I know we've had freezes well into March in the past, but I'm hopeful that March will bring a return to 70s and 80s across SE TX. March just sounds warmer than February.
Based on these comments above, I am now expecting weather akin to The Day After Tomorrow coming to Texas soon.

Right? I think he knows we could have another round of winter later this month. Then we can think about the warmth of March.

Good news is parts of the San Antonio metro (cental and western areas) are receiving some nice rainfall this afternoon. Models increase this in both coverage/accumulation into the evening and overnight hours. Much needed
Larry Cosgrove: “The vexing question: will the bitter cold in Canada move southward before winter is over?…”
“I see evidence from some of the predictive schemes that a very deep low will emerge from the southern branch into Mexico, and link with a storm in the polar westerlies out of the Gulf of Alaska on or around February 15. Forming an elongated, cold trough complex against an emerging -EPO styled ridge, a case can be made for strong cold advection into Texas and the Gulf Coast ten days from now. And, if the ECMWF and GGEM ensemble means are correct (deep breath now...), we could have a "last gasp of winter" in the last week of February across much of the USA. This has support from a stratospheric warming event in the Arctic Circle. But keep in mind that we have seen three SSW pulses this winter which translated to maybe 5 days of intense cold.”
