Hate to say this but......"YES!" a BREAK!

#1 Postby azsnowman » Sat Feb 26, 2005 10:09 am

Last summer I thought I would NEVER, EVER say this BUT....."YES, it's gonna DRY out and WARM UP for awhile  and the sad part, it's NOT just ME saying this, I believe the whole STATE of Az is breathing a *sigh of relief*

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
FXUS65 KFGZ 261017 AFDFGZ AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FLAGSTAFF 300 AM MST SAT FEB 26 2005 .SYNOPSIS...A SLOW MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO BRING SCATTERED SHOWERS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. ON SUNDAY...CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO IMPROVE IN WESTERN ARIZONA AND SPREAD ACROSS THE ENTIRE STATE BY MONDAY. FOR TUESDAY AND FOR MUCH OF NEXT WEEK...HIGH PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO BRING DRY CONDITIONS ALONG WITH WARMING DAYTIME TEMPERATURES. && .DISCUSSION...AN UPPER LOW WILL LINGER OVER NORTHERN ARIZONA TODAY. LAPSE RATES ONCE AGAIN WILL BE AROUND 7.0 TO 8.0 DEG C/KM THIS AFTERNOON. MOIST LOW TO MID-LEVELS ALONG WITH AN UNSTABLE ATMOS WILL ALLOW FOR MORE SCATTERED SHOWERS AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS TO DEVELOP THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE TROUGH WILL MOVE TO THE EAST OVERNIGHT WITH A HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE BUILDING OVER THE AREA SUNDAY INTO MONDAY. WARMING ALOFT ALONG WITH DRYING IN THE MID-LEVELS ON SUNDAY...THESE TWO FACTORS WILL BRING AN END TO THE SHOWERS. EXPECT WARMING DAYTIME TEMPERATURES SUNDAY AND MONDAY AS THE ATMOS WARMS UNDER HIGH PRESSURE. A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS FORECAST BY THE GFS AND THE ETA TO MOVE ACROSS UTAH AND BRUSH NORTHERN SECTIONS OF ARIZONA LATE ON MONDAY INTO TUESDAY. CAN NOT RULE OUT AN ISOLATED CHANCE OF SHOWERS MONDAY NIGHT...HOWEVER PRECIP CHC`S AT THIS TIME LOOK TO BE AROUND 10 PERCENT. ONCE THAT SYSTEM MOVES ON BY TUESDAY...A HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE WILL BUILD BACK IN OVER THE SOUTHWEST U.S. AND REMAIN OVER THE AREA THROUGH SATURDAY. EXPECT DRY CONDITIONS WEDNESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY WITH WARMING DAYTIME HIGHS.

Dennis :bd:

Now, ask me how I feel this SUMMER, I'll probably be bit*hing about how HOT and DRY it is........I know, just like a TYPICAL MALE :hehe:

*Doing the SNOWMAN DANCE*..........check out the last sentence, ABOVE NORM temps.....I mean, almost 6 weeks STRAIGHT OF SNOW, RAIN etc....this is gonna be NICE *breaks out the shorts, golf clubs AND a COOLER full O' MGD!*

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FLAGSTAFF 245 PM MST SAT FEB 26 2005 .SYNOPSIS...A SLOW MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CONTINUE TO BRING SCATTERED SHOWERS THROUGH THIS EVENING. ON SUNDAY...HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING INTO THE WEST COAST IS EXPECTED TO REDUCE COVERAGE OF AFTERNOON SHOWERS ACROSS THE NORTHLAND FROM WEST TO EAST. ON MONDAY NIGHT AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE IS EXPECTED TO BRING A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS TO AREAS EAST OF THE LITTLE COLORADO RIVER. OTHERWISE DRY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY WITH A SLOW WARMING TREND. && .DISCUSSION... CONVECTION TODAY STARTED AROUND 18Z AND HAS EXPANDED IN AREAL COVERAGE THIS AFTERNOON. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE NOTED AS WELL. THIS CONVECTIVE ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO DIE OFF AFTER SUNSET TONIGHT...SIMILAR TO THE LAST FEW EVENINGS. THERE IS STILL PLENTY OF LOW LEVEL MOISTURE AROUND AND HAVE ADDED PATCHY FOG TO THE VALLEY AREAS BELOW 6000 FEET. PROGS ARE CONSISTENT IN BRINGING A H5 RIDGE INTO WESTERN ARIZONA SUNDAY. THE SUBSIDENCE AND WARMER AIR ALOFT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS RIDGE SHOULD ALLOW FOR A DECREASE IN AREAL COVERAGE OF AFTERNOON SHOWERS FROM WEST TO EAST. BY MONDAY...NEARLY ZONAL FLOW ALOFT OVER THE STATE WITH AREAS OF MID AND HIGH LEVEL RH SHOULD KEEP SKIES PARTLY CLOUDY. THERE IS A WEAKENING SHORTWAVE COMING THROUGH THE RIDGE AND LOCATED OVER NORTHERN NEVADA AT SUNSET MONDAY. THIS FEATURE SHOWN TO MOVE RAPIDLY TOWARDS TO THE FOUR CORNERS AREA BY MID DAY TUESDAY...WITH A WEAK COLD FRONT MOVING INTO NORTHEASTERN ARIZONA. DID INCREASE THE POPS FOR AREAS NORTH AND EAST OF THE LITTLE COLORADO RIVER VALLEY. WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY... BROAD HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT IS BUILDING OVER THE DESERT SOUTHWEST. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE IS SHOWN TO SET UP OVER WESTERN COLORADO. THIS SHOULD KEEP THE CWA IN A COOL NORTH TO NORTHEAST FLOW AND UNDERCUT MOS MAX HIGH TEMPS FOR WED/THURSDAY. SHOULD THE PROGS FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY VERIFY...IT SHOULD BE QUITE NICE ACROSS THE AREAS WITH TEMPS 5 TO 10 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL AND LIGHT WINDS.

LOL Yeah.....it's been an OUTSTANDING year for moisture thus far, ALL and I do mean ALL the reserviors (well, except one, San Carlos) are at FULL capacity or soon will be AND.....the BEST news I've heard in YEARS............ALL of the water wells in Pinetop, ShowLow, Lakeside are FULL, wells that have been DRY for 7 years are now pumping water at the depth of "20 FEET!" These wells were dug down to 300 feet 7 years ago in hopes of saving them, they went dry and NOW  We've had 27 STRAIGHT days of snow, rain, snow, rain in Pinetop.....I've NOT seen the sun but 3 HOURS in those 27 days, myself with, I'd say 75% of Pinetop, were getting depressed due to the lack of sunlight, seriously!
