Incredible Fog
Wow, the fog is amazing outside here. The visibility is way less than a mile. At first I thought it was just the fireworks smoke but it has persisted and is everywhere. So weird. Can't wait to see what it will be like in the morning.

1/4mi is fairly common in my books, but still fun to experience.
When I lived in Germany, a few times the visibility would dip to around below 50 feet. One particular night it was around 25 feet. (Talk about a fun night for a weather forecaster or an observer!)
After shift, we tried driving downtown. That wasn't happening. We made it through our village, but the visibility was so poor nothing was recognizable. The fog was dense enough the street lights barely appeared and stop lights were invisible. When we decided to go back to base, it appeared that the base was missing. All the lights on base were blocked out by the fog.
