Is There Lightning In Hawaii?

#1 Postby riverratmike » Sat Jan 14, 2006 5:16 pm

Never hear anything about lightning in Hawaii. I was there about 3 months ago for a week and it rain and rain but never saw any lightning. Just was curious about this? Does lightning exsist there?

Most rainshowers in HI are warm topped Trade flow showers without lightning but during Kona Low situations the storms are much higher topped and not only is there lightning but the storms can be quite intense as well.

I couldn't find the video of that tornado on that link. I was just doing some searching for lightning images from Hawaii on the net here and found absolutly nothing. Kinda strange.
