WX radar sights. He explained that in the evening an inversion sets up
particularly after a hot day with warm air from the day sitting on top of a
cooler layer in the evening. This inversion will actually bend a radar signal
toward the ground especially if he has switched to "clear air mode" that
being the most sensitive setting thus the radar beam reflects off the ground and or objects. I have noticed ground clutter more during the
evening hours come to think of it. Just something to ponder. Someone
