20 years ago today, the deadliest U.S. tornado of the 1980s occured.
A multi-vortex F4 tornado struck the town of Saragosa, TX. Out of a population of 183 people, 30 were killed and 121 were injured. Most of the deaths occured at a community center where a kindergarten graduation was taking place.
