First Frost on the Pumpkin

#1 Postby Stephanie » Mon Oct 20, 2008 6:54 pm

It wasn't a hard freeze and you can see that it has affected some annuals that had no shelter from the shrubs or trees, but this was the first morning I had to use the ol' scraper on the car windows.

I always start missing the motherland this time of year. :(

Ah welll....please enjoy the leaves, cool air, the smell of pumpkins and burning leaves, and the mating chipmunks birds squirrels and everything else for me, and I will try to enjoy the 83 degrees and sunny October I'm having yet hating.

Our pumpkins are long gone by our first frost normally. :ggreen: We don't usually see first freeze till December 12 and only then if we are lucky.

I can't even imagine a first frost as late as December! To me, it's almost like "why bother"? LOL!

We are truly fortunate to be able to live in a country that has such a wide variety of climates.
