From my standpoint, I hope I don't get that "feeling" for awhile that I had the night before. Cleanup is progressing, donations have literally poured in from across the county & state, and Holton is starting the long road back but they are now on it and rolling forward again. And....we've got snow showers today with a temp of 33 F.

Posted this on the other thread, thought I would on the aftermath thread too:
----
Interesting comments from Henry Margusity. I find it really interesting the role that social media is playing now in warning people, saving lives:
http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-b ... area/62368
"I think overall the meteorologists from AccuWeather, NWS, local TV stations, radio stations and Storm Chasers all did a great job keeping up with a weather situation that was totally out of control. At any one time, there were at least a dozen tornado warnings and over 40 warnings overall covering the severe thunderstorms and flooding.
I do believe we will learn a lot from this outbreak as the meteorologists review the event over the next several months. And I think the one thing we will learn is that social media, specifically Twitter, played a huge role in delivering the information quickly to people. I was watching Twitter all day and read great information on where tornadoes were going and what areas were under warnings. I even saw information on areas that were cleared from the tornado outbreak.
It was a bad day, but I hope in the end, we all saved lives."

Very sad news as the toddler that was found in a field 150 yards from her house has died. Rest in peace her soul.
The 14-month-old girl found in a field after Friday's tornadoes passed away after being taken off life support on Sunday. The grandparents and doctors had decided to remove Angel Babcock from life support due to the severity of her injuries.
Angel was found alive about 150 yards from where her family's home had stood. Her parents, Joe and Moriah Babcock, died instantly; so too did her brother Jaydon, 2 years, and sister Kendall, 2 months.

Oh I had so hoped that little girl would've survived! A whole family gone!

This also goes along with the question of why did every other tornado warning have something like "Debris Ball" and "Tornado Emergency" when normally that type of wording only comes up once or twice a year? Seriously, there must have been 25+ of those.
Its pretty obvious the use of "tornado emergency" has gotten quite liberal the past few years.
As for debris ball, I just think its the hip phase after 4/27.
Or perhaps with the new dual pol radar in place in a lot of places the debris ball may well be visible more than it was previously. This is only my personal opinion, but I find nothing laughable about the phrase debris ball, even the way you stated it. I would suggest you ask the questions you stated above to the experts, both on this board and at local NWS offices, especially those in the areas affected.
