98 or 99 (depending on what the official will be) today at DFW. Not a record (101F from 2005) but definitely one of the hottest autumnal equinox days. Just as it should be in 2022 .

This weather pattern sucks. There's nothing else much to say. Hotter and drier than normal conditions will likely persist over the next 2 weeks at least. Not much relief in sight unfortunately. At least the sun angle is getting lower and the days are getting shorter. El Nino can't get here fast enough.

Next week looks great, temperature wise. Highs in the 80's and lows in the 50's/60's.

Just need rain.

Wholeheartedly agree with you, sir. I recently caught the Euro weeklies and they show similar weather well into October. Ugh.

DFW has recorded 0.33" of rain for the month of September, zilch the next week. After that few days in late August its been bone dry again. One step forward, three steps back. Which in hindsight was a speed bump in the 2022 pattern rather than regime change.

Winter may start early, Michigan fell to the 20s this morning, one month ahead of schedule.

And parts of Vermont got snow.

LOL, 2 more days and the weather will become awesome in DFW, highs dropping into the mid-80's by Wed, low-60's lows by Monday night, 50's mid-week. And even this weekend the dew points aren't bad.

It'll be nice but it has to eventually. Problem is long range ensembles show unusual warmth to begin October, remember normals are falling. Different month same story.

We have normalized warmth so much that normal is a blessing. Early October days in the 50s/60s and lows in the 40s is a great cool day. Not 85/60.

Front is draped across southern Oklahoma. Gusty north winds behind it. This should at least mark the end of any substantial consecutive 90+ for 2022 north of I-20.

It will be gorgeous state fair weather ahead.
