Here's the latest guys, and yeah, I cut out of chem early for this:

A STRONG UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL APPROACH THE AREA TODAY...TRANSPORTING DEEP GULF MOISTURE NORTHWARD INTO SOUTHEAST TEXAS. WIDESPREAD RAIN WILL CONTINUE ACROSS SOUTHEAST TEXAS WITH HEAVIER SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPING AND REPEATEDLY MOVING VERY QUICKLY NORTH ACROSS THE REGION. RAINFALL IS EXPECTED TO RUN ON AVERAGE 1/4 TO 1/2 INCH THIS AFTERNOON WITH ISOLATED TOTALS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES. AFTER 5 PM THE THREAT FOR HEAVIER RAINFALL WILL GO UP
QUICKLY AND AS AN EXTREMELY MOIST AIRMASS SURGES INLAND WITH THE WARM FRONT BEFORE BECOMING NEARLY STATIONARY.

THIS EVENING THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...RAINFALL TOTALS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES WILL BE COMMON WITH SOME AREAS RECEIVING AS MUCH AS 6 INCHES. THESE HEAVY RAINS ON TOP OF THE NEARLY SATURATED GROUND WILL PRODUCE A GREAT DEAL OF RUN OFF AND WILL QUICKLY LEAD TO STREET FLOODING AND COULD LEAD TO STREAM FLOODING. A RIVER FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT AS WELL.

A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ALSO EXISTS FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS TONIGHT. THE ATMOSPHERIC WIND PROFILE WILL FAVOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF ISOLATED SEVERE STORMS...WITH THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT BEING TORNADOES AND DAMAGING WINDS OVER AREAS MAINLY SOUTH OF THE INTERSTATE 10 CORRIDOR. HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE BUT MAINLY NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE 10 CORRIDOR.

Prolly isn't the place for it, but would like to know who is south and who is north. I'm south, fyi.

Satellite Imagery now showing a Line of Thunderstorms developing South of the Houston Area, over the Gulf of Mexico where the CAPE is nearing 1500. This CAPE, and ACtivity will move inland. Very intense surge of moisture by evening is evident in the 850MBtd map. Expect these storms to move in a NNE Direction towards the Houston Area.

Actually that line in the gulf appears to moving more towards Beaumont and not Houston. I'm seeing a slight break for us for the next couple of hours.

I agree Suzi - way out in West Texas I see another line. So far things haven't been bad. Let's keep it calm for another 2 1/2 hours - then it canhappen..

Just for info..ROCKstock is the same person as the former Monsoondude. He was banned for anti-social behavior. I have disabled his new account and will e-mail him tonight on the proper way to ask for reinstatement. ;-)

The weather has hit Baytown - raining and winds blowing. By the looks of the radar - its gonna be a long night.
