Well the chances of rain aren't too high right now but from everything I've been hearing we could have a downright soaker Monday and Tuesday...not good for all the parades in south Louisiana.

NWS has gloomy wet ideas on yalls mardi gras-
MUCH UNCERTAINTY THEN COMES INTO PLAY
BEGINNING SUNDAY NIGHT WITH BOTH THE ETA AND THE GFS INDICATING A
POTENT TROUGH DROPPING INTO THE EXTREME SOUTHWEST STATES WITH
EMBEDDED DISTURBANCES TRAVERSING AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM ACROSS THE
GULF COAST REGION. THE CONSISTENCY OF THE MODELS THOUGH HAS NOT BEEN
GOOD AND LIKEWISE THE TIMING OF THESE DISTURBANCES BEGINNING TO MOVE
ACROSS THE REGION SUNDAY NIGHT SO FAR IN ADVANCE OF THE MAIN TROUGH
IS VERY MUCH IN QUESTION. STILL...WILL STAY CLOSE WITH THE CURRENT
FORECAST INTRODUCING RAIN STARTING SUNDAY NIGHT AND CARRYING THROUGH
MARDI GRAS. THE LATTER HALF OF THE GFS DOES HAVE A SURFACE LOW
DEVELOPING IN RESPONSE TO THE UPPER TROUGH BY TUESDAY ACROSS TEXAS
AND THEN TRACKING SLOWLY EASTWARD WITH ASSOCIATED FRONTAL BOUNDARIES
MOVING ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA. HOWEVER...THE TIMING OF THE UPPER
TROUGH'S MOVEMENT IS AGAIN IN SOME QUESTION WHICH COULD IMPACT THE
PROGRESSION OF THE SURFACE LOW BY MID WEEK AND THEREBY AFFECTING THE
TIMING AND CONSISTENCY OF THE RAIN. BEST BET AT THIS POINT IS TO
LEAVE RAIN IN THE FORECAST PROBABLY THROUGH WEDNESDAY AND HOPEFULLY
DRY THINGS OUT BY THURSDAY PENDING THE PROGRESSION OF THE UPPER
TROUGH. UNFORTUNATELY...THIS SCENARIO DOES NOT PAINT A VERY GOOD
PICTURE FOR LUNDI AND MARDI GRAS DAYS ALTHOUGH AT LEAST MUCH OF THE
UPCOMING WEEKEND LOOKS OK FOR NOW.
