With heavy rains across Southern Texas, and Northern Mexico and areas of showers across the Rockies, it looks like we're going to see more rain across the South, Central Plains, and Mississippi River Valley, and even further north into teh Great Lakes.
With a low pressure developing over the Texas/Oklahoma Panhandles, and high pressure situated over the Southeast, the southerly flow from the Gulf of Mexico will begin to enhance the precip chances as we move through the wee across the South.
Let alone, another low pressure moving east through the Great lakes will bring showers through Tuesday. The rains across the South will develop further, as a surface low pressure develops in the Northern Gulf of Mexico. With the combined surface lows and a stalled frontal boundry across Southern Florida that extends west to the developing surface low in the Gulf of Mexico, rains will spread eastward through the week.
During the day Tuesday, high pressure across the Southeast weakens, and this will help bring the winds down across Florida where it's been very dry. Rains are needed badly before we see a repeat of 1998!
By late Tuesday, rain moves into eastern Texas and extends north through Oklahoma into Kansas. But the surface low over the Gulf of Mexico is the key to bring rain to Florida later in the week. By late Tuesday, we should begin to see the rains across the extreme southern portions of Louisiana. Rains are still persistant across Eastern Texas as we move into Tuesday Night and Wednesday morning. AS the low pressure moves across Southeast Louisiana during the day Wednesday, so does the rain. It spreads into Mississippi and Alabama, but Louisiana is still under the showers as we begin to see a longwave trough developing along teh Mississippi River Valley. The rains spread as far north as Minnesota and Wisconsin. But the most important part of this system, is the rain begins to move into the Florida Panhandle during the afternoon Wednesday.
Will North Florida, or all of Florida get rain?
By Thursday morning, rain will be in place from areas around Tampa north all the way to the Great Lakes. As the low pressure moves further east during the day Thursday, and moves off shore the Eastern Seaboard, we can once again see this low deepemning, and creating another Nor'Easter for the Mid-Atlantic States and New England. The winds won't be as strong as the last system, but with teh grounds still saturated, we could see some more Flood Advisories issued.
What we will be watching late in teh week is a system that moves out of Southwestern canada. This could bring some more wintery precip for the northern states over the weekend, and the potential for a severe weather event for the Plains Saturday into Sunday, and even the Southeast late Sunday afternoon and into early Monday.
