Can you believe that we ACTUALLY saw something in the sky today, still trying to figure it out, it's BRIGHT, WARM and you can't look at it, "OH....WAIT, it's the SUN!"
After 16 STRAIGHT DAYS of not seeing it, I was BLINDED.....like the song, "Blinded by the Light!"

at least not at 7000 feet but what IS looking more likely is our first spell of the dreaded Spring winds with the models advertising H5 winds of up to 70kt from the SW over AZ this coming weekend. From about mid April through mid June, if there's one thing that can be said about the weather in AZ is that its windy.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FLAGSTAFF AZ
230 AM MST WED APR 14 2004
.SYNOPSIS...A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE WEST COAST
OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. THIS WILL BRING BREEZY TO WINDY CONDITIONS
TO THE STATE EACH AFTERNOON THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK ALONG WITH
A SLIGHT COOLING TREND. THE LOW PRESSURE AREA WILL APPROACH THE
REGION BY THE WEEKEND...BRINGING A STRONGER COOLING TREND...WINDIER
CONDITIONS...AND A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SHOWERS.
&&
.DISCUSSION...LOOKING AT A BREEZY TO WINDY PATTERN FOR THE REST OF
THE WEEK. THE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE HAS MOVED EAST OF THE STATE AND WILL
BE REPLACED BY BROAD AREA OF LOW PRESSURE TO THE WEST. AS THIS LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM DEVELOPS AND MOVES DOWN THE WEST COAST ANTICIPATE AN
INCREASE IN PRESSURE GRADIENTS AND SW FLOW ACROSS THE STATE. WIND
SPEEDS TODAY WILL REMAIN BELOW ADVISORY CRITERIA BUT MAY REACH
CRITERIA ON FRIDAY. WINDS AND RH WILL BE MONITORED CLOSELY FOR FIRE
WX ISSUES.
