Strong Cold Front moves through Midwest

#1 Postby NWIASpotter » Sun Aug 08, 2004 5:08 pm

A strong cold front moving through the midwest has sparked of some severe storms, but is also bringing in some very cool temps for August. Temps today ranged from the mid to upper 80s in Iowa. While forecast temps through the rest of the week will call for highs only in the upper 60s!!! It will slowly begin to warm back up throughout the rest of the week, most likely after wednesday with temps rising into the upper 70s and some low 80s by Saturday. Overall a very cool shot of air will move over the area especially for this time of August.

.LONG TERM...
UNSEASONABLE POLAR COLD FRONT SHOULD DRIVE THROUGH THE CWA ON WED
AND SHOULD SEE A TIGHT GRADIENT ON TEMPS PER CLOUDS/RAIN/CAA FROM
N-S. MORE LIKELY CHANCES FOR SHOWERS/STORM NE 1/2 WHERE BETTER
DYNAMICS ALOFT SHOULD ENHANCE LINEAR MCS ALONG FRONT...WITH MORE
SCATTERED COVERAGE FARTHER WEST. FRONT WILL BE CLEAR DOWN INTO
MEXICO AND THE GULF BY THURS MORNING AND SHOULD PUT AN END TO RAIN
CHANCES BY THEN...WITH AREA UNDER INFLUENCE OF POLAR HIGH AND NW
FLOW ALOFT. WILL FEEL MORE LIKE LATE SEPT/EARLY OCT THAN AUG.
WOULDN/T BE SURPRISED TO SEE RECORD LOWS AND MINIMUM HIGH TEMPS
THREATENED WED NIGHT INTO FRI MORNING...ESPECIALLY N/NERN PTNS OF N
TX. HUDSON BAY LOW MODIFIES BY NEXT WEEKEND ALLOWING FLAT UPPER
RIDGE TO SLOWLY PUSH BACK EWD INTO TX. TEMPS MODIFYING ACCORDINGLY.

Breeze you know I'll do my best!! :D Temps here today reached in the low to mid 70s, tomorrow expected to be mid to upper 60s!! Wednesday and Thursday bring the same. And then we finally begin to warm back up into the upper 70s and low 80s. I'm glad for this because I start football camp on Wednesday. Ahh last year: mid 90s, heat index 110-120, man it was great!!
