I think the Coastal Plain of Texas (climo wise) does best in heart of winter and Summer when the Gulf/Atlantic is the source. When the rest of the state dries out and heats up, SE Texas does well.

That being said, there will probably be a moderate risk of excessive rainfall in North and Northeast Texas the coming week. Widespread 3-5" of rainfall looks likely with areas getting 6-10" or more. Flood watches I'd bet will be up for many days. Ridging in the eastern US will slow the flow pattern and put Texas at risk for deluges.

Ntxw, you think SCTX does well too, as we start May?

that 30% severe risk Tuesday is interesting too

though I do think flooding will become the bigger problem but it is late April

6 inches of rain for DFW on the Euro :double: :double:

Looking forward to the rain next week.
Some storms have popped up in west Texas and are moving this way. Will they make it???

Pretty dramatic cut-off on the Euro west of DFW.

Yes it was a nice surprise :cheesy:

Got about 1.20" with that storm along with lots of lightening and thunder. Opened the windows after the heaviest of the rain ended. Wind was strong enough to blow over the trash can that was full of limbs from the last weeks storms.

That pretty much shot down any mowing I had planned for today. :ggreen:

I already used that excuse this morning. My wife informed me that it's been windy all morning so I can mow the yard now!!

Very quiet in here, so I checked the Euro, and it makes sense. Rain totals are being significantly reduced.

GFS and ECMWF model QPF comparison on the weather this morning. Looking wet. I'll take it over sunny, dry and 90s, any day of the year.

Both Euro and GFS show at least western DFW only getting light totals with bigger amounts south.

Don't trust big time rain totals that show up in the medium range on models. More times than not those totals have disappeared once getting closer to the event lol
