With another inch I am at 3 inches for the month.

Not bad after months of nothing.

Looks like 2.5" in Windsor Park, according to some usually reliable gauges.

Wow! Those totals pretty much saturate whatever dry soils were there! :D

My dad keeps track of the rain he gets. He texted from northern San Antonio around the Blanco area south of 1604:
We had 11 days of rain in June for 5 1/8". With yesterday's 4 1/2 we've had 3 days of rain in October for 5 1/2. Pretty nice. :rain: :D

My brother texted from the area around Jones Maltzberger and Wetmore, north of the airport near Blossom Athletic Center:

2.74 here.

I got a nice 1.73" of rain at the house, and now it feels absolutely wonderful out. Girlfriend is already clamoring for me to get the fireplace going tonight. :cheesy:

Del Rio is basically the desert though. Y’all need one of those big supercells to come roll off the mountains of Mexico to get any rain lol

Looks like snow in Kansas next week. I remember trick-or-treating in the snow one year growing up. But, it's very early for snow even up there. Hopefully a good sign for us.

Ditto! Seems like that's the only area that missed out. I know it's an arid to semi-arid environment out there, but Del Rio usually gets in on those Fall or Spring MCSs that form. I guess not so much lately. Sorry hriverajr. Sucks.

Our weather service talked about Val Verde County in this morning's discussion. Hopefully you all can get in on something soon.

PREV DISCUSSION... /ISSUED 403 AM CDT Fri Oct 25 2019/

SHORT TERM (Today through Saturday)...
With the front now off the Texas Coast gusty north winds are ushering
in colder temperatures and while isolated light showers continue
across the I-35 Corridor and the Coastal Plains drier air should
work into South Central Texas through the morning hours. Current
temperatures have dropped into the upper 30s to near 50 across South
Central Texas and with the gusty north winds parts of the Edwards
Plateau and Hill Country have wind chills below freezing as of 3:30
AM. The upper level low responsible for pushing the front through the
area overnight will continue to ride along the Red River to the
north of our area, leaving behind zonal flow in its wake. At the
surface strong post frontal winds prompted the issuance of a Wind
Advisory yesterday, and this will continue through 4pm this
afternoon. Sustained winds between 15 and 30 mph continue with gusts
at times anywhere between 30 to 40 mph. With the drier air moving in
and the windy conditions, elevated to near critical fire weather is
possible this afternoon across most of Val Verde County
. While most
areas saw some rain overnight, with decent rainfall totals along the
I-35 corridor, Val Verde County got next to nothing from this front.

48F and drizzling in the afternoon at DFW airport. Feels like December :cold:. Another cold day coming later next week on Halloween.

Warmest day this week is a balmy 75F on Sunday. We have come down a long way from the first half of the month.

It was 97 degrees 2 weeks ago. Ahhh what great memories. NOT!!!! Bring on the rain and cold this fall season. Winter will be here before you know it. An early season hunch says snow will happen this year. :froze:
