Warm front hasn't made much progress. We're in a blocking -AO/-NAO episode. If it were winter this would be cold NW flow with embedded systems. Of course in April any disturbance would kick up some sort of severe, but this type of pattern is unusually cool of late. The huge northward surging, unstable air masses comes with large zonal flow troughs kicking out from the west allowing much more northward movement of warm fronts and boundaries, thus extremely moist environments.
Glad to see the southern tier of the state catching up on the rain to weed off some drought.
