Nice. Down here will get a little cooler or more normal for the coming week. Maybe even cooler next weekend if models are right.

The line of showers/isolated storms seems to be trying it's best to hold together as it passes into South FL.

Well temps in W.Central Fl will be pretty much on average for early April this upcoming week. It will be nice to see normal type dewpoints intead of May-like conditions that we had.

Picked up nearly 2 more inches of rain in heavy thunderstorms which moved through the Jax area earlier today. I have picked up just over 5 inches of rainfall for the past seven days. No spring drought for our region that's for sure.

As for next weekend, a very significant cold spell and well below normal temps for early April is coming for the Eastern CONUS. Latest EURO is projecting potential for temps to drop into the 30s for inland North Florida for Saturday morning (4/9/16) and GFS is calling for similar values. I posted yesterday on the previous page that for the first time in what seems like forever, the latest teleconnections forecast are calling finally for the NAO to tank significantly. ENSM forecast a -AO and -NAO simultaneously by middle of this month. Old Man Winter is trying to make up a bit for lost time apparently. Should the ENSM forecast verifies later this month, conditions may possibly resemble to be more like February than April for the Eastern CONUS, and potentially even down into my neck of the woods. Interesting weather potentially ahead.

Wow is it nice out! Just incredible. and the chill coming next week is even more impressive...I think AC units will get less use in the first half of april than they did during the first half of march. make it count. we all know what's coming in a few weeks and there will be no looking back..

Beautiful wx indeed, time for my A/C to take a break for a week, at least during the night, after a very warm, humid & wet March in the Orlando area.

Should be real nice and dry tomorrow and the weekend is looking cooler. The NAO/AO still holding on to neg. which should be a good sign for bringing the front through S.Fl. I'm already planning an outside weekend.

Storms during the night into this morning took me by surprise, watching the models the last few days I was dismissing their forecast for rains because of the dry flow we have been in the last 5 days. This just tells us how much juicier the atmosphere has been this year.

Regarding the the weather for this upcoming weekend, it ends up that temps are forecasted to be just slightly below average for central FL, nothing close to "cold" temps the models were forecasting a few days ago. Enjoy it while we can, you know the 90s regime is just around the corner.

a couple of surprise ef-0 tornadoes hit the bay area today...one in pasco county and another in Clearwater about 4 miles south of me. I drove past the damage path today and saw lots of tree damage...video showed a scary silhouette (the storm happened just before 7 am) with several powerflashes. even a weak tornado is a scary scene. now for the weekend...much cooler temps ( my nws point and click shows low 70's for highs and low 50's for lows)...those temps are closer to midwinter norms...a jacket will be needed once the sun is down as temps will free fall in the low dewpoint air. the normal cold spots north of tampa bay will probably get down to the low 40's. it will be delightful. unfortunately, a quick rebound is in store with mins going from well below normal to substantially above in just a few days so enjoy it while it lasts. the CPC extended outlooks show warmer temps returning to the east.

There is a chance some of the normally colder spots across interior North Florida coming up on Sunday morning may see temperatures dropping down into the upper 30s. That is quite cool for approaching almost mid April. I am absolutely loving this weather completely. As many of you have stated, enjoy this weather now as the hot, humid days and 90 degree plus days are immediately just around the corner.

The NAO finally went negative, albeit for a brief time, and for the time being, it has temporarily given us a reprieve from the heat here in Florida.

The present airmass across South Florida is quite impressive for April 9th if you ask me! Just look at those Dew Points at 9pm! 8-)

On top of that there were BARELY any clouds in the sky throughout the entire day! Probably one of the best Saturdays I've seen weather-wise in weeks!

Well , it bottomed out at 44.4 degrees here this morning. Simply put, just an absolute delight to have this cool weather for it to be almost mid-April. Brilliant sunshine and temps in the low 70s for max temps are on tap here today. We are running about nearly 10 degrees below average for April 10. Today will be the last full day of below normal temps and low humidity we probably won't have again until October at the earliest.

Looks like rain returns by Wednesday to Jax .

It didn't get as cool as expected last night (58 @ KTPA and 61 @ KPIE) but it was superb. A juicier airmass will slowly moderate our temps here in west central florida with highs near normal but lows pushing back above normal. Still...no complaints...April is frequently one of the best months of the year weatherwise and we're doing well and we're certainly light years ahead of last year's freakishly hot April.

We are in the midst of an April nor'easter here in Northeast Florida. A strong 1033 mb High wedging down the Eastern U.S. seaboard is combining with an inverted coastal surface ttough to produce a very tight northeast wind pressure gradient across the area. The nor'easter will hold firm today through Saturday. We are expecting wind gusts up to over 40 mph along and off the coast of Northeast Florida and off the Georgia coast today and tomorrow.

Also, the noreaster is bringing us cloudy and unseaonably cool conditions, and rain, which will be off and on today through Saturday. Max temp only in the upper 60s at best.today and tomorrow.
