When was the last time we had back to back months with record precipitation, if ever?

14.25" now at the airport. Fall 2018 now is at 26.94" (12.69" Sept) and is the second wettest season ever behind Spring 1957 (29.01"). That drops Spring 2015 down to third with 25.05". If November gets normal rainfall then this will be the wettest season on record.

It is also the biggest back to back rainfall months. 1957 held that slot with 12.19" April and 12.64" May prior.

Coincidentally 2015 and 2018 are the two record breaking EPAC seasons with 2018 being the top ACE producer. Correlation to rain. (EPAC seasons are not well documented prior to 1970)

Up to 1.93" with a bit of back filling over the airport but it looks like things are mostly done. The daily record was safely set at 2.76" in '49.

Today was a great rainy day. I love rainy days. I don't love the fact that I have to boil water to drink it. Glad this whole ordeal is coming to an end soon.

That would be great if it’s spread out over a few different events rather than at once. :D

After receiving over 2 inches of rain on Wednesday, DFW has broken the record for the wettest October. The previous record was 14.18" in 1981. DFW also set the record wettest September. These are the first back-to-back months with record precipitation totals since February and March of 1945. In addition, 2018 is now up to 7th on the rankings of wettest calendar years.

I don't know that the 2015 record is in danger, but 2018 could very well end up in the top 3.

With El Nino we are almost guaranteed to be top 3 wettest at DFW. 1991 could be beat pretty easy if Nov and Dec come out normal rainfall. To beat 2015 we would likely need a top 5 November and December. Or one of those months go crazy. Really it was the dry Spring that prevented 2018 from running away at wettest after the historic Feb rain.

Probably need an EPAC hurricane in November to boost for records.

July didn’t help us either. I don’t think I can remember such contrasts between seasons. I spent most of the summer this year outside and can remember countless hot days with what felt like weeks without rain, and now it feels like my house might float away!!

Yeah. This year has behaved much like what you would expect going from Nina to Nino. A dry Spring and Summer (warm) then transition to cool/wet Fall. You can't paint it any better.

Ditto, I am so over the boil water thing. And now they are saying use hand sanitizer after you wash your hands if you use tap water. I feel like I’m in a whole other country. You know like when you are on vacation and you can’t drink the water?
