With all of those storms passing through, not a drop of rain. This area has got to be cursed.

FWD has 60-70% for most of the northern areas. There is plenty of CAPE available but the flow is weak, so storms are kind of herky jerky. It's not a typical line you see with a MCS but should see cells continue to work south but it might get more hit and miss as we head into the evening.

Rain, thunder, and lightning this afternoon in Denison. And temps currently in the 60s.

Remember those dire model predictions of 100+?

Nope, me either.

Crazy. My parents are in town and we took a road trip today to Paris and Oklahoma and we've been chasing the storms back to DFW since Lake Texoma. Never expected this much rain today. i thought maybe a complex towards Paris but never this far southwest

I also remember the endless projections of 100+ and no rain

I know... I couldn't believe it's actually pleasant outside. :double: Zero complaints about this. Quite a visible few lightning strikes too

Looks like most of N. Texas will end up cashing in after it is all said and done. The models continue to look dry over the next week or so but they keep missing these short range events.

I must say I am surprised by these events. The northern half of Texas has been interesting nonetheless. I posted that I was thinking something like this would happen later in June but the NW flow has been great

When I last looked at radar about an hour ago a batch of storms were heading towards Abilene. I look now and the whole thing expanded in a hurry! Giddy up and bring on more please. And yes, totally unexpected because we should be in a 10 day stretch of 100's and dry, according to forecasts a few days ago.

I know, I remember TV mets digging up history of early season heat waves

What heat wave? :roflmao: Even the hot day Saturday still wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been

Today was a fun day at the office. The Balloon launch was 40 minutes late, I'm not even sure if it got ingested into the 0z NAM lol. I can't imagine what tornado outbreaks are like in the office.

Both ECMWF and GFS onboard with potential Hurricane Bud recurving into Mexico and fusing with a western trough and surging gulf moisture on the eastern flank of the hurricane (pulling rich moisture at the low levels from the western gulf north). Devil in details but continue to think a high precipitation event odds increasing.

Finally! picked up around 3/4'', but the main event was the wind. 40 mph sustained wind with gusts at 60-70 for 3-4 hours straight. Lots of damage up this way.
