Lots of thunder here in the north metro, storms down towards Garland and Plano

Pretty good downpour just passed through Irving. Heavy rain with some sunshine. Could also see some high built clouds in the distance in all directions. Looks like pop up storm season is here. I always enjoy the quick hitting thunderstorms in late May and early June. The cloud formations are incredible to watch, especially on sunny days when you can see elevated cloud tops from miles away. Thank you mother nature.

Looked at radar, big blob of rain appears to be heading this way from the Panhandle. Will it hold together?

These storms are blowing up in the north metro... must be some kind of boundary from the morning storms(which mostly died out in this area)

and I do believe that area in the Panhandle will make some part of the area... whether it's the metroplex or not is the big question(that's been the one talked about for days). Some indications it may stay west but we'll see. Today has overperformed in the metro imo. I really wasn't expecting anything and this is the 2nd round in a lot of areas.

Looking at the HRRR... the last run swept through the metro after midnight, the run going now keeps the heaviest of it to the west of us

Yeah the metro has been missed a few times albeit today has been wet. The storms this morning were a surprise but with the current pattern with all the saturated air, anything could happen with no sinking air in place.

Yep must be a boundary over us in northern Rockwall county too. Storms just keep forming. Been pouring for a while with some pea sized hail.

Power just blinked for about 5-10 seconds here, just long enough to reset everything. No hail(for once), just a lot of noise.

Electricity did the same thing here. I bet we both have Farmer's Electric. My backyard is a raging river.

Euro and GFS parks a low pressure system through the first week of June. More clouds and more rain opportunities very 2007esque. Then we will have to watch moisture fetches from the EPAC and WGOM with MJO/Kelvin wave passage. Lots to discuss when we move to the summer thread

We need to keep a close watch this week. The ULL may stall and transition to a warm-core low. We all know what that means in early June....

Flood watches will likely be needed for the eastern half or 2/3rds of the state. Many WFO's have been hinting at it. Though it wont be a tropical system, if it does go warm core will behave like one with minimal severe weather but torrential rainfall

Really? I can see this happening with so much moisture in the air and a hot June sun. Interesting.
