Looks like EF 2. Remember April 2012 the flying J in Dallas? Doesn't take much to lift those things very high up.

Yeah the Trailers don't take as much to lift, though that April 3rd storm was an EF-3 too but heavier trailers, I couldn't tell if it was a car or not from the other angle, a car more compact and heavier than the trailer, well empty trailers that is, but especially the one on the roof.

That tornado was rated by the NWS of EF-2. EF-3 was given to the Forney tornado

Regardless though this is probably EF2 damage that I can see so far through the images. Probably a lot of unexpected folks.

Wimberly is flooding very badly again. They are evacuating along the Blanco. Areas along the river south of there need to be on high alert. Could be a repeat of Memorial Day weekend.

I was afraid of an event like this taking place in the October frame. Huge moisture feed coming from the Pacific. HRRR is showing potential for super cells around midnight tonight. Tomorrow, it looks like E Tx is under the gun. Everyone be safe please.

@WxNick: 5.76" of rain at #ABIA in Austin in the past hour – that alone would be the 7th-wettest DAY in 73 years of records there. #ATX #TXwx #flood

No Epac hurricane out there, but the subtropical jet feed from the tropics is well connected through the eastern Pacific. Most guidance keeps this configuration at least through mid November with the southern rockies and SW trough continuously replenished.

Major flooding is occurring across the Austin area especially points south of the Colorado River. Over 6 inches has fallen at my house. Two rooms have flooded, my laundry room and office. My yard has turned into a flowing river. The wind has been ferocious, got really bad earlier when they issued the tornado warning however the main circulation was to the east of me.

From jeff:

Extremely dangerous and life threatening flash flood event ongoing over C TX between Austin and San Antonio.

Rainfall this morning has averaged 8-10 inches over Hays County around Wimberley, TX. This “incredible” rainfall is leading to massive flash flooding along several rivers including: Blanco, San Marcos, Comal, and Guadelupe. 1-hr rainfall rates of 6.01 inches was recorded on the SE side of Austin by a LCRA gage. Devastating flooding is resulting.

Hays County indicates hundreds of high water rescues ongoing from both homes and vehicles and are requesting all available help from surround counties for assistance. Many cars have been swept away into flooding creeks with water going into homes in Wimberley. Flooding on the San Marcos River is flooding portions of San Marcos.

Caldwell County is ordering an emergency evacuation of all residents along the San Marcos River effective immediately.

Daycare flooding with kids inside at 207 Elmhurst in Kyle. :(

Just heard on our local news that the Blanco River expected to crest to its 4th highest level in history (31.5 feet?).

Isolated 15-20 inches rain totals predicted by NWS they said.

We get no rain for almost three months. Then we get is all at once, and then some in one day.

That has been the case for the El Nino areas this year (southern US). The rain hose as been loaded but aimed at different areas during different months. First it was Texas, then it was shifted to Florida, then ever to the southwest and now back to Texas. Wherever the 500mb weakness sets up, to the right of it gets hosed and the adjacent areas are bone dry. But we'll look back at the end of the year and see that those three areas are Nino climo for above rainfall for the entire period and will match perfectly the analogs. The troughs are nothing unusual it's just the faucet is on max from the Pacific

The rainfall totals are matching memorial day weekend down there which was 10-13"

KXAN is saying that if you live near Onion Creek, and have *ever* flooded before, you need to get your stuff and get to higher ground now.

We're ok here at the house so far - about 2.5" of rain so far.
