@TxStormChasers: 901PM: Mineral Wells did sustain some damage earlier - but the reports of major damage/violent tornado were grossly overexaggerated. #txwx

Today taught us though to always be aware for tornadoes, even when storms aren't suppose to be severe, because all it takes are some marginally severe storms and an outflow boundary to cause a mini outbreak like this. I'm not sure if it was an outflow boundary today, or the models just busted big time. But if it was an outflow boundary then today reminds me of 4/3/2012. There were 28 tornado reports so far today in Texas and Oklahoma, though not all of them will likely be confirmed.

And the mini-outbreak continues.

Very impressive rotation on radar for this one, even the great James Spann has tweeted so:

@TxStormChasers: 921PM: Possible STRONG TORNADO developing near Vineyard and Runaway Bay. This is a serious situation! Take shelter now! #txwx #dfwwx

@NBCDFWWeather: Intense circulation over Runaway Bay. Not sure if this is 1 tornado, or multiple. Stay in shelters in this area. http://t.co/6tEYcplW8r

Now some monster hail in one cell and a large tornado that hit Mineral Wells. Is the Wells supercell the one with the well defined hook?

Mineral Wells wasn't even in a slight risk for most of the day. I said a few pages ago that it seems like the days they aren't predicting much are the worse.

Pretty much.

28 tornado reports, that would be the highest for a Slight Risk day this year and maybe last year too. I'm also getting tired of reading extensive damage or large tornado when both turn out to be hugely exaggerated, its really getting old. Same with most tornado videos ending for no reason right when things are getting interesting or there is no apparent reason for the clip ending (just go look at any random clip to see what I mean).

And look at this new warning:

There are some maps that show that the metro is ripe for tornadoes if this thing starts moving south.

Very dangerous tornadic storm looks to be tracking directly into Lone Grove, Okla. (southern Oklahoma).

Then maybe into Ardmore.
