No real cold air for a while as the SE ridge looks to flex its muscle, however, it may turn cold again in early to mid December.

Yep. Getting too warm. Don't think I'll make it through weekend without AC. At least the dew will drop into the 50's monday. Probably be a warm Thanksgiving down hear. 8-)

Our winter weather is as boring as the weather is in Hawaii at least for S Fl goes because the temps are always above normal and by the time a cold front sweeps by there is no weather associated with it.

I just feel that the weather is ho hum during the winter with no real changes it’s just boring to me and I know you love it, I just like variations from day to day.

Yeah I see what you're saying. You should take a Winter road trip. But at least we've had a total scour out of the excessive October warmth which has been replaced with comfy temps and sane dewpoints. You can't ask for more than that

I’m actually going to New York City middle of January so I’ll get my winter than.

It was nice not having to turn on the A/C at my house during the past week and may not need to do so over the next couple of days as well, but that will not be the case for Thanksgiving as the humidity is forecasted to be higher by then.

The GFS continues to advertise a really potent cold front for Florida and the SE US in the 8-10 day range now with anomalously low 500MB height fields all the way down to Cuba and into the NW Caribbean! It is not often you see that in the model runs. The result is widespread 30s for a lot of peninsula Florida on this run (the 06Z has 20s)

The 00Z Euro has a deep trough too on the 00Z just a bit slower in its eastward progression.

The GFS is probably (way) too fast with that deep trough...but the near term trend of cold in the west does bode well for an eventual translation to the east perhaps down the road. When model runs bump heads with those CPC outlooks...it is generally the CPC outlooks that emerge intact and as of now they are running on the warm side of normal..

The 12z Euro now too has a deepening trough in the Eastern U.S. at day 10 similar to the GFS.

If we actually get into the 30s in South Florida I’ll eat crow. The GFS will trend warmer and will end up with lows around 60. I’ve been around long enough to not get fooled by the GFS, just like when we are in the getting hit by a hurricane at 300 plus hours in fantasyland.

The latest GEFS teleconnections forecast through December 7 still shows a positive NAO, but now is forecasting a + PNA for the period.

So, that + PNA can help to offset the +NAO and bring cold to the Deep South and to possibly North Florida, but without the - NAO, the cold will not penetrate deep down into the peninsula, that is, if these teleconnections forecasts verify as we head into December.

I think the models will back off with the cold a bit in future runs for Florida. It will be a decent cooldown for the Deep South region the first week in December though.

Short term, we will have another warm Thanksgiving as the ridge builds back across the area by Turkey Day.

We will see just how cold it get for Florida but the more interesting story may be the big winter storm out west and how cold it may get out on the west coast and down into Southern California.

How do you copy a picture for example an image from the GFS at a certain hour and paste it on here by using an I phone? Just like gatorcane did from the post right above mine.

You need to download the image to your iphone's images, but you still need an image site host like Imgur. I use their mobile application on my phone.
