Started the day at 39 here in Denison, only made it up to 45. Had a fire burning all day.

Felt like April in January, now it feels like January in April! :cold:

Nice to hear from you, weatherdude

We got over 3.2" in Sw Austin. 1" came today. Hopefully the pattern continues!!

Wow! Now if I had that much rain, I would hope it would stop for at least a week or two. I am guessing the water must drain off really fast where you are because I would need it to be dry at least a week in order to cut the grass. It is so flat where I am located so the rain doesn't have a lot of places to go. That's a big reason why the flooding was so severe in my area during Imelda last year.

Ha, thanks :) I realized it has been a while since I have been on here.

Our work was transitioning to telework a few weeks ago and I've been working from home the past few weeks, watching the kiddo and figuring out how to homeschool.lol. Trying to keep our distance and use common sense. Nice to be distracted by weather! ;)

In Weimar, we got 4" of rain over the past two days. A friend's tank rose two feet and has about another two feet to be full. Be safe out there.

I’m sure he and most of the other regulars are focusing on other things going on, especially while the weather is boring.

That said, Monday April 13th is consistently showing up on the gfs as a day that may need to be watched for severe weather, though it’s a ways out and the 500mb pattern hasn’t been very consistent. Anyone have any thoughts? Professor? Bueller?

We have been out here in Weimar for 3 weeks at the farm. Our tank rose 18 inches and the fish are popping today.

We are off 2434.

I'm not seeing much for the 13th, perhaps a small shortwave that's moving through. Always got to be careful with those, but right now the low pressure is up in the great lakes and the GFS has a strong CAP over Texas until right up against the front. Next weekend looks interesting on the Euro though for the Southeast. If the 12z is correct it could be a pretty potent outbreak near my neck of the woods.

The upcoming weekend looks interesting on the Euro, Canadian, and UKMET. The GFS looks out to lunch right now. If the model consensus verifies, we could see some severe weather across the state.

For NTX the forecast has pretty much been dialed way back to 20% chance of showers today and again this up coming weekend. Most of the rain that was in the forecast going back to last Tuesday wound up staying more south and East of DFW with only spotty showers around.

I need some SUN, and 80's to dry out my soggy lawn so I can mow again.

Still here!

April so far has begun much cooler than normal. More cool shots are ahead, it's likely to diminish somewhat in the overall outlook for severe weather than what a normal April would incline to be.

But it has been a very wet start to Spring for DFW.

I think one of the culprits is the strong strat PV. It has held longer than usual, so the final warming was delayed thus the exhaust of remaining cold from the polar regions in April.

We've had a persistent -PNA so perhaps in May there could be a shot (short but intense) period of severe weather.

The Euro has been slowing down the progression of the cutoff low for this weekend and it definitely seems like parts of East Texas could be in play for some severe weather on Saturday.
