Another .09 overnight so looks like a total of 4.51" for this event in Port St. Lucie West

Supposedly 7 inches or so in my area, but didn't really feel like that - it seemed to be a lot of "moderate" rain that added up rather than really heavy rain.

I know some of the usual areas around Brickell had issues, but man, just a little west of there, I am always amazed at the ability of the South Florida ground to just soak up inches and inches of water like it's nothing. In so many other parts of the country, 7 inches of rain in that period of time is catastrophic. In Miami, it's like whatever, we dried out already.

I would keep a close watch on potential strong thunderstorms down in South Florida late today and lasting into tomorrow. The tail end moisture from the developing TD2/potential Bertha off the Southeast US. Atlantic Coast will be the trigger for the storms down state.

Believe it or not Jupiter Island in extreme NE Palm Beach County is the hotspot for total rainfall over the past two days in South Florida. 10.44” fell there over just the past 48hrs.!

That theory never proved to be worth anything. Stop trying to beat a dead horse! In other words you keep making claims that there won’t likely be any significant hurricane threats to the U.S. and it’s only May 27th. Right now there’s a weakening TD Bertha moving NW into the South Carolina, so there is at least some ridging to force storms into the U.S. Let’s talk about this again on October 27th.

EPIC heavy rains in Port Saint Lucie tonight after an east shower flow and west flow converged right over the town. I'll be over 10.00" for the month by AM easily.

Meanwhile on the Suncoast despite the local mets calling the rainy season has started. Not so fast, this next week will be mostly just hot and 10 to 20% rain chances.

May surely was a drenching month here in Palm Beach Gardens, managed to pick up 14.17 inches of rain during the month at my house. Wonder where tat would rank in terms of wettest Mays go?

Weird, after all that, not a single drop of rain for a week. Think TD3 gets sloppy and a bunch of moisture rides up the entire peninsula off its east flank?

Pretty much just as I spoke, now getting some fairly heavy passing showers interspersed with sun. I like this kind of changeable weather.

Well we ended the month of May well below average rainfall here across Northeast Florida. Tropical Storm Bertha finally gave us the only rain we had here all month, with 1.85 inches .

Now, T.S. Cristobal is about to send a tremendous deep moisture pump of rich tropical moisture for the entire Florida peninsula, beginning in earnest on Thursday, and lasting into next week. Cristobal (CoC) is forecast to approach the Louisiana coast, either Sunday night or into Monday morning. per 06Z GFS run this morning as a moderate/strong T.S., although changes to the path and intensity to the cyclone could impact Florida's weather as well especially in relation to rainfall. However, any shifts farther westward of Cristobal, for example, could reduce the impacts of extreme heavy rain amounts for some areas of the peninsula.

Now, with most early season June tropical cyclones, mid-level shear, and dry air entrainment, in this case, will likely cause Cristobal to be a very lopsided system. Most of the heaviest and significant weather and impacts to be well removed to the east and northeast of the CoC.

Folks especially in the Florida Panhandle, potentially could see some very extreme rainfall totals as the cyclone lifts northward across the Gulf the next few days. I would not be surprised to see flooding in areas there into next week.

The rest of the peninsula will see abundant tropical moisture, which will produce rain and storms for the next several days to come. This will be very welcomed here across North and Northeast Florida but definitely not for some areas across Southeast Florida, especially Broward County and the Miami-Dade County area, which was swamped with flooding from T.S. Bertha just recently.

So lots of active weather in store for the peninsula going forward into the medium range forecast period. I was wondering when the rainy season would finally kick into gear. Well, it is definitely about to really potentially wallop us in the days to come!!

I'm getting enough rain and then some on the Treasure Coast to match or exceed what a tropical system would bring and this is supposed to go right through Friday
