Thanks Gusty
I know that web site.. very good news source. the pictures are incredible. I have seen some similar pictures on Facebook and friends are calling giving reports of a lot of building damage too.
The animal shelter on the French side and the zoo on the Dutch side have both been seriously damaged , thus the facilities for the animals are not adequate at this point.. Staff at both facilities are urging people to come help.

You see, this is why the term "season over" should never be used! This is September activity in October! Prayers to those who may have suffered losses. To our members that made it through, I'm glad to hear from you and know that you're okay!

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN JUAN PR
335 PM AST TUE OCT 14 2014

.SYNOPSIS...TROFINESS WILL CONTINUE TO PREVAIL AT UPPER LEVELS
WITH A MID LEVEL RIDGE BUILDING FROM THE NORTHEAST AT MID LEVELS.
AS GONZALO MOVES AWAY...WINDS WILL VEER TO THE SOUTH LATER THIS
EVENING/EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.

&&

.DISCUSSION...VARIABLY CLOUDY SKIES PREVAILED ACROSS THE LOCAL AREA
WITH SOME OUTER BANDS ASSOCIATED WITH GONZALO MOVING IN FROM THE
NORTH. THEN...SOME SHOWERS WITH ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED
OVER AND NORTH OF THE CORDILLERA.

AS GONZALO MOVES AWAY...A MID LEVEL RIDGE WILL BUILD ACROSS THE
LOCAL AREA FROM THE EAST NORTHEAST AND THEN HOLD THROUGH THE REST
OF THE WEEK. THIS FEATURE WILL SUSTAIN A CAP OVER THE AREA...BUT
NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO SUPPRESS AFTERNOON CONVECTION OVER THE NEXT
FEW DAYS. IN TERMS OF PRECIPITABLE WATER...GFS AND WRF GUIDANCE
SUGGESTED A SHARP DECREASE AS SOON AS TONIGHT AND INTO
WEDNESDAY...REMAINING NEAR NORMAL THROUGH THE UPCOMING WEEKEND.
BUT MIMIC PRODUCT SUGGESTED A SHALLOW TAIL ASSOCIATED WITH GONZALO
MOVING IN WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. AS GONZALO CONTINUES TO MOVE
NORTHWEST... A SOUTH TO SOUTHEASTERLY WIND FLOW WILL PREVAIL
ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH FRIDAY...BECOMING MORE EASTERLY FRIDAY AND
SATURDAY.

UNDER THIS EVOLVING PATTERN...EXPECT A FEW MORNING SHOWERS ACROSS
WINDWARD AREAS FOLLOWED BY AFTERNOON SHOWERS WITH THUNDERSTORMS
OVER AND NORTH OF THE CORDILLERA WEDNESDAY THROUGH THE UPCOMING
WEEKEND. ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURE ALONG THE NORTHERN COAST
EXPECTED WEDNESDAY THROUGH AT LEAST FRIDAY UNDER A SOUTHERLY WIND
FLOW.

&&

.AVIATION...VFR CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA.
HOWEVER...SHRA/TSRA ASSOCIATED WITH GONZALO ARE STILL MOVING IN.
PERIODS OF MVFR CONDITIONS WITH MOUNTAIN OBSCURATIONS ACROSS
TJMZ/TJBQ/TJSJ STILL POSSIBLE UNTIL 14/23Z. CONDITIONS WILL
CONTINUE TO IMPROVE FOR TNCM/TKPK BUT VCSH/VCTS STILL POSSIBLE
UNTIL 14/23Z. SFC WINDS OVER PR/USVI WILL BE SHIFTING TO A SRLY
FLOW AT 5 TO 15 KTS.

&&

.MARINE...ALTHOUGH HURRICANE GONZALO IS MOVING AWAY FROM OUR LOCAL
AREA...HAZARDOUS MARINE CONDITIONS STILL EXPECTED ACROSS THE OFFSHORE
ATLANTIC WATERS. THEREFORE...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORIES REMAIN IN EFFECT
AS WELL AS A HIGH SURF ADVISORY.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN JUAN PR
459 AM AST WED OCT 15 2014

.SYNOPSIS...UPPER LEVEL TROUGH OVER HISPANIOLA AND A MID LEVEL RIDGE
OVER THE NORTHEAST CARIBBEAN WILL PREVAIL FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS
HURRICANE GONZALO MOVES NORTHWARD ACROSS THE ATLANTIC WATERS WELL
AWAY FROM THE LOCAL ISLANDS.

&&

.DISCUSSION...THE DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR DETECTED ISOLATED TO
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE CARIBBEAN
WATERS MOVING NORTHEASTWARD OVER SOUTH CENTRAL SECTIONS OF PUERTO
RICO. ANOTHER AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WAS ALSO DETECTED
OVER THE NORTHERN LEEWARD ISLANDS. THIS ACTIVITY WAS ASSOCIATED
WITH THE OUTER CIRCULATION OF HURRICANE GONZALO NORTH NORTHWEST OF
PUERTO RICO.

AS GONZALO MOVES AWAY FROM THE LOCAL ISLANDS TODAY...A MID LEVEL
RIDGE WILL BUILD ACROSS THE NORTHEAST CARIBBEAN. THIS FEATURE WILL
PERSIST THROUGH THE REST OF THE WEEK...MAINTAINING A FAIR AND DRY
WEATHER PATTERN OVER THE FORECAST AREA. HOWEVER...SHOWERS AND
A FEW THUNDERSTORMS ARE STILL POSSIBLE TO DEVELOP EACH AFTERNOON
FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS. THE LOCAL WIND FLOW WILL CONTINUE FROM THE
SOUTH SOUTHWEST AS HURRICANE GONZALO CONTINUES TO MOVE
NORTHWESTWARD. FEW BANDS OF MOISTURE ASSOCIATED WITH THE OUTER
CIRCULATION OF HURRICANE GONZALO WILL CONTINUE OVER THE REGION
TODAY. THE WIND FLOW OVER THE REGION WILL BECOME FROM THE EAST
DURING THE UPCOMING WEEKEND. UNDER THIS EVOLVING PATTERN...EXPECT
A FEW MORNING SHOWERS ACROSS WINDWARD AREAS FOLLOWED BY AFTERNOON
SHOWERS WITH THUNDERSTORMS OVER AND NORTH OF THE CORDILLERA
CENTRAL THROUGH AT LEAST FRIDAY. THE SOUTHWESTERLY WIND FLOW WILL
PROMOTE ABOVE NORMAL MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE ALONG THE NORTHERN COAST
OF PUERTO RICO THIS AFTERNOON AND THURSDAY AFTERNOON.

&&

.AVIATION...VFR CONDS WILL PREVAIL ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA AND AT
ALL TAF SITES AS CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TO IMPROVE ACROSS THE
LOCAL FLYING AREA. FEW SHRA EN ROUTE BTW ISLANDS TIL AT LEAST 15/12Z
SFC WINDS OVER PR/USVI LGT/VRB TIL 15/14Z THEN OVERALL SOUTHWESTERLY
FLOW AT 5 TO 15 KTS DURG THE PRD. L/LVL WNDS FM SW AT 10-15 KTS BLO
FL200 BCMG MORE SRLY ABV AND INCR TO NR 40 KTS AT FL 400. NO
SIGNIFICANT OPERATIONAL IMPACTS ATTM.

&&

.MARINE...SEAS AT BUOY 41053 NEAR SAN JUAN HAVE DROPPED TO 6 FEET
AND SEAS IN RINCON IS INDICATED 6.5 FEET EARLY THIS MORNING. THE
HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS NOT LONGER IN EFFECT. SEAS AT THE NORTHERN
BUOY...41043...REACHED 19 FEET YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND HAVE NOW
DROPPED TO ONLY 9 FEET. SEAS WILL CONTINUE TO GRADUALLY DIMINISH
WITH LIGHT TO MODERATE WINDS FROM THE SOUTH SOUTHWEST OVER THE
FORECAST AREA.

AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN JUAN PR
310 PM AST WED OCT 15 2014

.SYNOPSIS...UPPER LOW/TUTT OVER THE CENTRAL CARIBBEAN AND CENTRAL
ATLANTIC ARE INDUCING A MID-UPPER LEVEL RIDGE ACROSS THE EASTERN
CARIBBEAN REGION. AT LOW LEVELS...SURFACE FLOW IS STILL INFLUENCED
BY HURRICANE GONZALO. SOUTHERLY FLOW ACROSS THE LOCAL REGION IS
EXPECTED TO SHIFT FROM THE EAST-NORTHEAST ON FRIDAY AS HURRICANE
GONZALO MOVES OVER THE NORTHWEST ATLANTIC WATERS.

&&

.DISCUSSION...MID TO UPPER LEVEL RIDGE ACROSS THE LOCAL AREA HAVE
MAINTAINED A FAIR WEATHER PATTERN ACROSS THE ISLANDS TODAY. DOPPLER
RADAR ONLY SHOWED A FEW SHOWERS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS OF ST.
CROIX EARLY THIS AFTERNOON. ELSEWHERE...MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES PREVAILED
MOST OF THE DAY. MID-UPPER LEVEL RIDGE PATTERN WILL HOLD OVER THE
NEXT FEW DAYS...KEEPING A MODERATE CAP INVERSION ACROSS PR/USVI
REGION THROUGH AT LEAST THE END OF THE WEEK. HOWEVER...OPERATIONAL
MODELS SUGGEST A GRADUAL INCREASE IN AFTERNOON CONVECTION ON
THURSDAY AS SYNOPTIC SUBSIDENCE ASSOCIATED WITH THE BROAD CIRCULATION
OF GONZALO MOVES AWAY. STEERING FLOW WILL BE WEAK ENOUGH TO SUPPORT
THE DEVELOPMENT OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE INTERIOR
AND NORTH PORTIONS OF PUERTO RICO THURSDAY AFTERNOON. THE REST OF
THE WEEK...MODEL GUIDANCE CONTINUES TO SUGGEST A RELATIVE FAIR WEATHER
PATTERN OVER THE LOCAL ISLANDS. AFTERNOON CONVECTION CAN NOT BE RULED
OUT EACH AFTERNOON...BUT THE OVERALL COVERAGE WILL DIMINISH AS MOISTURE
GRADUALLY DECREASE THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK.

&&

.AVIATION...VFR CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO PREVAIL THROUGH THE
FORECAST PERIOD...WITH A SOUTHEASTERLY WIND FLOW AT 10 TO 15 KNOTS.
BRIEF MVFR CONDITIONS POSSIBLE IN VCSH/VCTS AT JSJ/JMZ THROUGH
15/22Z. NO SIGNIFICANT OPERATIONAL IMPACTS ATTM.

&&

.MARINE...MARINE CONDITIONS WILL GRADUALLY IMPROVE OVER THE NEXT
FEW DAYS AS HURRICANE GONZALO MOVES AWAY FROM THE LOCAL AREA.
SEAS OF 6-8 FEET ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE ATLANTIC WATERS AND MONA
PASSAGE THROUGH THIS EVENING...SUBSIDING BELOW SMALL CRAFT
ADVISORY TONIGHT. THE REST OF THE WEEK...SEAS OF 4-6 FEET CAN BE
EXPECTED ACROSS MOST OF THE REGIONAL WATERS. A SMALL...BUT LONG
PERIOD NE SWELL WILL REACH THE ISLANDS DURING THE WEEKEND.
