Re: Caribbean - Central America Weather
Thanks Luis
it is good to get some localized weather since in the other forum everyone is already talking about Florida..
It's like the islands don't exist
Gustywind, how are conditions there?

Yeah you're right while the direct is for the Leewards and PR and others islands!
Not much action here, some passing showers sometimes with small gusts, nothing bad. Looks like Erika should pass close to us near Antigua if the path verifies first. And you Barbara, what's the weather like?

Take care Gusty, I just woke up and it appears it is on your doorstep. Hope you get the much needed rain as I also wish we get it too.
As always stay dry. That is unless you have some great foul weather gear and decide to take a walk. My favorite thing to do pre/after a storm

Hey Luis, with this prolonged westerly track, ERIKA seems poised to gobble up PR from coast to coast unless it changes course N-NW very soon. Your thoughts?

Re: Caribbean - Central America Weather
good morning! I woke up to sunny skies. We have a little rain coming in now.
what happened? I don't know what to expect from this storm. Is it possible we won't even get much rain?
Gusty, how are conditions in Guadeloupe?
Luis, what is PR expectiing?

Hi Barbara. Things have calm down a bit. Nothing serious in my area since this morning... some briefs and moderate line of showers accompanied with gusts 35-45 km/h with numerous lightnings, thunder. Nothing to kill a cat or a dog. Whereas seems that the easternmot tip of Guadeloupe .... Saint-François strong winds have been reported with nice amount of rain. IF i have more about that i will keep you informed. Whereas another rounds of showers and thundstorms should spread on the island. We stay on orange code we continue to monitor very carefully TS ERIKA. Looks like DOMINICA is getting impressive amount of water given the radar and the latest weather observations.
Hope that ERIKA will bring nice showers on you respective areas Msbee and Luis.

Hello Barbara,Gusty and rest of fellow Caribbean friends. In Puerto Rico already some bands of heavy rain have been moving thru the island but things will pickup in intensity and coverage late.Let's see how much rain falls to make a big dent to the drought.

Re: Caribbean - Central America Weather
Hi folks.I thought I was not going to be able to post this morning because of no power but in my area it has stayed so here I am but some towns are without power Some branches and trees fell but that has been it.Puerto Rico in general has escaped the most rain and strongest winds although there have been many reports of tropical storm force winds between 25-40 mph with some higher gusts.Rain so far has been below what it was forecast as between 4-8 inches and isolated areas were going to get 12 inches but so far only between 1-3 inches have fallen but we can get some more this morning. The bad thing is that the drought will not end.Yes the lakes have risen but not sufficient.Overall,Puerto Rico has fared well as most of the system remained to the south.
