Even places that aren't used to seeing drought have been dry this season.

The RH was 28% this afternoon... about as dry as it gets in Montreal during summertime.

Water levels in the rivers and lakes surrounding Montreal are at their lowest in over a decade causing safety hazards for boaters but also destabilizing the coastal ecosystem, concentrating the level of pollutants in the region’s water supply and stalling Quebec’s shipping industry.

And if that weren’t enough cause for concern, things are only expected to get worse as the month of August approaches, according to Environment Canada.

This disastrous drought in the US is starting to affect Canada...

Sudbury, Ontario has now been 16 consecutive days with basically no rain (0.5mm (0.02 inches) or less)

After going 12 consecutive days without any rain in June, Huntindgon, Quebec has started a new streak with 8 straight days with NO rain. The RH went as low as 28% this afternoon... and we're talking about the most humid place (or at least one of the most humid) in Canada.

A wiki page now exists about the drought.

While much of Texas is still in a drought (although MUCH better than a year ago!), not surprisingly, there is NO drought here in Southeast Texas. We're drowning, instead. lol

No doubt... huge!

And not only is the drought erased here, but there's a lot of flooding in Southeast Texas. Never-ending rain... feast or famine.

That Florida comparison is amazing! Now, if we can get the rest of the country that's in an extreme drought to look like Florida...

There's a nice line of severe storms barreling their way through the Mid Atlantic & New England now. We need the rain - Philadelphia only had .74" of rain through July and several days of 100+ degrees.

I do hope though that Ma Nature starts to take pity on the middle part of the country. I know that the crops and livestock have suffered greatly now, not to mention the livelihoods of the people. This really stinks.
