Re: Texas Spring 2026
Another Watch is coming.

Mesoscale Discussion 0189
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0432 PM CDT Tue Mar 10 2026
Areas affected...much of central Oklahoma into western North Texas
Concerning...Severe potential...Watch likely
Valid 102132Z - 110000Z
Probability of Watch Issuance...95 percent
SUMMARY...Scattered severe storms are expected to form over the next
few hours from western North Texas into Oklahoma. Large damaging
hail, destructive winds, and tornadoes will all be possible.
DISCUSSION...Visible satellite imagery across the region clearly
shows an uncapped and unstable air mass from much of OK into TX
along and east of a dryline. Dewpoints have held in the mid to upper
60s, reults into over 2500 J/kg MLCAPE. Wind profiles are very
favorable for supercells, with 50 kt effective bulk shear oriented
favorably to the dryline, and, SRH is expected to increase this
evening, enhancing supercell and tornado risk.
Given long hodographs with nearly 100 kt in the upper levels, steep
lapse rates and ample moisture, very large destructive hail will be
possible. A strong tornado may occur as well especially this
evening and before convective merges into a possible severe MCS.

Re: Texas Spring 2026
That watch is mostly for the linear line that's going to move through the DFW area I suppose. Hrrr is not too impressed with supercells ahead of it, most likely embedded in the line I guess, so severe wind, some hail and some spin-ups perhaps?

Re: Texas Spring 2026
My flight is expected to land at Love Field at 10 pm. That's going to be cutting it close, with short term CAMs showing the line arriving around 10 pm - 11 pm... my window seat should be interesting if it can just hold off a bit.

CIG 2 hail area extended up into central OK, that tornado warned cell produced at least 1 weak tornado but has remained disorganized since.

That line looks pretty stout just west of the Fort Worth area. I assume it's moving due east?

It sure is, but the hail looks like it's disappeared.
Looks like I'm going to get it straight on.
I'll post once it's over.

Pretty intense line. Lots of purples etc. almost worth pulling up GRlevel3 on the gaming PC but usually reserve that for lots of tornadic storms. Rare to see a good old fashioned bow here it seems compared to my childhood in KS.

Re: Texas Spring 2026
Well, no hail (not that that’s bad) and wind not too strong but it is a strong storm.
Pretty heavy rain though.

I got a 45 mile an hour wind gust, the temperature dropped, it rained, some lightning a power flash, no hail, overall not bad.
