If the 48hr HRRR is correct, we will likely see some upgrades from SPC for Saturday in TX. Looks like solid potential for a wind/hail event, but HRRR at this range is sketchy at best but if it continues to show this than we should be looking at an upgrade. Decent potential for some of you guys down there.

Sounds wonderful. I'm sure the golfers at the PGA Championship will be relieved up there in Tulsa.

And the fans get to pay $18 for a beer
Looks like a much needed soaker on the way.

I was there yesterday and the prices for everything were insane. Luckily all food and non alcoholic beverages were included in the ticket so we got unlimited food/drink thankfully since it would have been like $6 for a water bottle and $15 for a small burger. The prices there are ridiculous

Ha flying back from Houston late last night I met a couple who somehow had driven from San Antonio then paid $400 to go one day... That was just for the ticket. Not the gas the plane which tickets aren't cheap there either the hotel or anything else
they were leaving to go home at 5am tomorrow... I just can't imagine spending that much money for one day to watch some balls move

He's more than welcome to ride out here to West Texas where I've already had 7 days of 105-107 temperatures and wildfires for a little more heat.

Yeah my dad paid for a ticket for me and my brother since he wanted us to go. I would never buy one for myself though those prices are crazy. There was a guy on the shuttle bus back from the course that said he flew in from Houston for one day. Some of those dudes are crazy lol

I really can’t wait for this coming cooldown, KFOR has highs in the
50s on Saturday (Tomorrow) for OKC.

Yeah it's gonna be a nice change before we move into the permanent summer heat in a couple weeks

Cold front, or storm induced cool air, will be slashing through North Texas this evening. What a nice change!!! I am sick of this hot weather already.

Today is the 25th anniversary of the killer F5 tornado in Jarrell. Fascinating new write up and videos by NWS on that historic Central Texas outbreak:

Love the radar animation. You can see the Pacific moisture in Mexico coming in clashing with the boundary clearly visible along I-35. Of note this occured during the onset of the 1997 super El Nino.
