Storms starting to pop west of Mineral Wells. About the same time as yesterday. Are we in for a repeat?

Re: Texas Spring-2015

Not every day that a professional meteorologist is on the front page of the local newspaper.
This is Dennis Cavanaugh of Fort Worth NWS on the front page of today's Herald Democrat newspaper. He was in Sherman on Tuesday as a part of the NWS survey team sent here to examine the damage left behind by Monday's severe storms.
The NWS crew confirmed that an EF-0 tornado had touched down in Sherman, moving north and then lifting just before entering Denison. The twister, weak as it was, still destroyed this plumbing supply house and also caused one injury.
It passed over the middle of Denison as a low-hanging funnel cloud. In fact, one Facebook video shot by a friend of mine shows it almost over his house. Another video shot in the downtown area shows it a couple of hundred yards off the ground passing over Munson Stadium, the football stadium for Denison High.
After it crossed the river, the tornado touched down a couple of times in Bryan County and damaged a handful of homes in two different locations. It killed a woman in Blue, Okla. when it destroyed her manufactured home and threw her more some 600-feet from where the mobile home had stood.
One county further to the north, the tornado was pretty large and hit several homes near Atoka.

I wonder if he knows of the high regard and esteem that he is held in here on Storm2k.org?

Hmm, I'm surprised no one mentioned the last 2 GFS runs, though they are probably phantom storms, the 12z has a tropical system developing in the Southern GOM while it heads towards Texas. The 18 GFS has a storm move along the Florida coast a bit and then turns inland and eventually finds it's way near Louisiana.

Great article and good visuals. The cool thing also we didn't need a tropical storm or hurricane from the Atlantic to do it. All came from ULL after ULL with an enhanced Pacific subtropical jet. Didn't hurt that rising air and moisture is high in the tropical Pacific. The majority of our weather and climate lives or dies by that big Ocean engine.

We've had a lot of rain and some minor flooding, but nothing like the devastation we've seen in Central Texas. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

Latest drought map is out and for the third week in a row we continue the theme of removing a drought category each week. This week "severe" drought category has been eliminated. 5.40% of the state is in moderate drought while 17.89% is abnormally dry. 82.11% of the state is drought free, one of the most dramatic shifts is around the Wichita Falls area which has joined the drought free club.

Ntxw-
What impact do you think Andres will have on Texas? It looks like it won't make landfall, but I know these Pacific storms can still send a ton of rain our way without making landfall.

According to officials TxDOT has closed U.S. 259 north of DeKalb, Texas due to water crossing the roadway on the Texas side approaches to the bridge.
Highway 8 is also closed at this time.
The river is currently at 34.17 feet and expected to rise to 34.3 feet late thursday. River levels show no sign of lowering below 33 feet past the first of June.
