Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: Rain / Thunderstorms
I think I have gotten about an inch and half of rain today. I was out in the woods behind the house throwing out corn and putting up a deer stand when the bottom fell out. It felt so good I worked right on through it. 15 minutes later when I was through putting up the stand it was still coming down in buckets. My son and I got in my jacked up golf cart and started cutting down the trail very fast through the standing water and mud. We were soaked to the bone with mud all over us from head to toe....definitely a top notch red neck moment!!!! We are waiting on the next down pour so we can do it again!!

Sounds like a blast Johnny!!!! On the other hand we have had lots of thunder and even some close lightning hits in our area and only a few spits of rain-definitely not enough to measure. Come on rain!!!

I doubt you'll have to wait long, Johnny. Good rain chances through at least the next 5 days... moving ought to be fun.
I hope y'all took pictures!
I've gotten quite a bit of rain the past couple of days. Looking out the back door, my 5 inch rain gauge is a little more than half full. I dumped it a few days ago.

Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: Rain / Thunderstorms
I heard there may have been a tornado in Houston yesterday.

It was even caught on tape.
I like to see some rain anyways.

Anyone else need to build an ark? Wowzy... been coming down in buckets for a while now. I didn't get much rain yesterday, but got a lot the 2 previous days. I haven't seen a lake in my yard like this in months. And what a wet forecast the rest of the week! And I close on my house this week and in the middle of moving.
Just my luck that this week, we have the wettest forecast in months.
*kindly requests that Mother Nature puts off the rest of the rain until next week*

The rain has completely missed Austin the past few days. So much for the monsoon the media was hyping.

Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: Rain / Thunderstorms
Just finished our second round of showers for the day. Nothing spectacular, but a nice rain to help hold my water bill down. Total about 1/2 inch for the day probably.

It's been raining again for a little while and the thunder and lightning are nonstop. It also rained pretty much all day yesterday, then broke for a while before it started again last night. Intensities have ranged from quite heavy to light. This is just about the worst weather I could ask for while moving. I'm moving completely out of my house today and tomorrow. It's supposed to rain both days. ugh!

We've had 1.5" of rain so far today. Definitely need the rain we've had for the last few days, but now need a little bit of a break so we don't get soggy. Wah!! Wah!! Wah!! I want to have my cake and eat it too!!!!

lol - I've never really understood that phrase... I mean, what good is cake if you can't eat it?
The rain finally let up this afternoon so we got a lot moved. Not before local street flooding, some yards flooded, but I don't think water got into any homes. KBTV (local NBC affiliate) was knocked off the air for nearly six hours due to downed power lines. Entergy experienced interruptions trying to restore it because of lightning.
Tomorrow was our lowest chance so far this week at 50%, but NWS upped it to 70%... hopefully that forecast will bust. We'll be moving everything else tomorrow, so I'm praying for drier weather.

Re: SE TX/SW LA weather: Rain / Thunderstorms
We ended up with 2" by the time Iemptied the gauge this morning. Some of that probably came overnight since radar shows heavier rains moving your way and already past us. It is still raining with intermittent thounder.
