This is one weird storm. Thunder rumbles since I got home about 3:30. Finally rain, wind and thunder together. Now we get the lightning flashes and the rain is almost over.

About a 1/3" so far. YIPEEEE

I can hear thunder, but really, there isn't a looming storm I can see. It's just different shades of gray.

.35 rain total. Wish it was more.

Still hearing thunder in the distance.

feederband - you just need to move closer to the coast this time of year. 8-)

Power flickered a few times. Now I am finally back onto the internet.
The wind was not as bad as yesterday. Today's gusts were in
the 20-30 mph range, but there was some heavy rain and plenty
of lightning.

Some rain and lightning here today, but nothing too bad. Supposedly the Orlando airport saw a few 50mph+ wind gusts earlier, but I didn't see anything even close to that up here. Probably just a couple of 20mph gusts at the maximum on the northeast side of the city.

Winds were no where close to what they were yesterday. Plenty of lightning. Id say we got 1.15', but ive got to wait until the final tally in the morning.

Re: Florida Weather Thread-Strong storns possible today

#1974 Postby JonathanBelles » Tue Jun 10, 2008 12:00 pm

pretty much the same as the last few days except there will be more of a west coast sea breeze pushing storms more inland. It also looks like storms will be slower today. I'm going to mention that numerous waterspouts were sighted off the SW coast of Fl this morning. Hail is also a real possibility for today.

here is the Miami HWO:

...SCATTERED TO NUMEROUS THUNDERSTORMS TODAY...
...DENSE FOG/SMOKE POSSIBLE AGAIN TONIGHT NEAR LAKE OKEECHOBEE...

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR SOUTH FLORIDA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

THUNDERSTORMS: SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE
COASTAL WATERS AND ALONG THE WEST COAST TODAY WITH NUMEROUS
THUNDERSTORMS EXPECTED ALONG THE EAST COAST AND ACROSS INTERIOR
LOCATIONS. GUSTY WINDS, SMALL HAIL, HEAVY RAINFALL, AND FREQUENT
LIGHTNING WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THE STRONGEST ACTIVITY WHICH WILL
BE MOSTLY CONCENTRATED ALONG THE EAST COAST SEA BREEZE AND OVER
INTERIOR LOCATIONS.

WATERSPOUTS: A LIGHT SOUTHEAST WIND AT THE SURFACE WITH SOUTHWEST
WINDS ALOFT MAY COMBINE OVER THE COASTAL WATERS TO ALLOW A SLIGHT
CHANCE FOR WATERSPOUTS OVER THE COASTAL WATERS TODAY.

WIND: IF STRONG STORMS DO DEVELOP TODAY, WHICH WOULD MAINLY OCCUR
OVER THE EAST COAST AND ACROSS INTERIOR LOCATIONS, WIND GUSTS OF AROUND
40 MPH MAY BE POSSIBLE.

HAIL: IF STRONG STORMS DO DEVELOP TODAY, WHICH WOULD MAINLY OCCUR
OVER THE EAST COAST AND ACROSS INTERIOR LOCATIONS, SMALL HAIL OF
DIME SIZE MAY BE POSSIBLE.

FLOODING: HEAVY RAINFALL MAY PRODUCE PONDING OF WATER ON ANY
POORLY DRAINED ROADWAY TODAY ACROSS THE EAST COAST METROS.

VISIBILITY: DENSE FOG POSSIBLY MIXED WITH SMOKE MAY BE POSSIBLE
ONCE AGAIN NEAR THE MUCK FIRE BURNING ALONG WESTERN SHORE OF LAKE
OKEECHOBEE.
