Floridians are suffering just brutal heat and drought. At 8am it is already 83.5F and humidity 85%. Not a drop of rain the entire month and not much anticipated in the next few days. So Fla has seen some rains but not widespread. I was in West Palm Mon/Tue and their drought is awful. 7" of rain total since Jan 1...avg is 23". My home on the west coast has received good rains earlier in the year, but since May 1 only rained twice. Every day is well over 90F and sunny, breezy. Once again the rainy season is not kicking in. Anybody know if there are signs that upper level moisture will increase? We are in the westerlies, which means west winds strong at 10-15mph off 86F water, and this pattern usually is dry. Odd, coming off such a conveyor belt of moisture is the Gulf, but we rarely see rains this way. East Florida heats up. Greg in New Port Richey

Tulsa only cooled down to 85F this morning which an all-time June record. The previous June record was only 82F on June 20, 1998.

It's also pretty close to the all-time warmest low which is 87F recorded on July 16, 1980.

In Fort Smith AR, the low was 84F..which WAS an all time June record high minimum
