The latest GFS has us getting up to 95 (!!) on the 26th. I am going to assume that is wrong because it IS WRONG for us to be that hot in April. Ridiculous!

Dang! What.A.Storm. I never ever lose power. I'm on a hospital electrical grid. This storm came through this morning and I was without power for about an hour and a half. Thank goodness it is cool outside!

A tree fell onto I-10 on the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge between Lafayette and Baton Rouge.

ETA: The local 911 website has lots of road hazards and wire hazards. I know someone who strapped in her car between 2 downed power lines. Yikes!!!!

Absolutely INSANE line of storm rolled through about 2 hours ago. It turned pitch black just after 8am and I would estimate winds were blowing 60-70mph. Felt like near hurricane conditions for about 10 minutes. In just two hours this line reached the New Orleans area. Entergy (large utility company in state) is reporting 115,000 without power right now statewide.

After reading CajunMama's post, I checked the weather in NOLA and saw tornado warning heading to Lafitte. I called my wife to check on her dad and called my mom. My mom was freaked out and in their "safe" room; she said it was black outside. Luckily for them the tornado signature went north of Lafitte, closer to Crown Pointe but they're without power as well.

While watching WWLTV online, the State Trooper Station in Kenner reported a wind gust of 112mph as a tornado signature was right on top of them.

That was insane! We had to corral all of our students into the halls and some of our T-buildings didn't fare so well but nothing major. I haven't seen a storm like that in a long long time. The winds were recorded around 70mph in Baton Rouge at one point. It was definitely like a hurricane but actually worse with the heavy rain and lightning, it just didn't last as long as a hurricane, thankfully.

Has anyone seen the video of the train cars being blown off the Huey P Long bridge? Incredible. Mother nature is so powerful.

The coulee behind my home is half full. I'm a bit worried about the rains today.

Plenty of moisture feeding in from the GOM into Louisana today. They are getting drenched along the SW LA coast up into Central and Western LA currently. There potentially could be some flooding problems across this region later today, along with extrem SE TX, if not already occuring.
