I’ll never understand why some people don’t like longer days. I’m an outside person so I love my long days.

Last evening in Mexico. In Mexico City now where it is around 65 degrees with some lightning nearby. Going to miss these temps down here and I will probably faint when I get off the plane tomorrow afternoon. Not looking forward to the heat.

In this summer, even this particularly hot week has featured daily thunderbumpers randomly floating around with blessings of rainfall and cool breezes. I love it, it's very unlike the hell-desert summer climate I've been trying to acclimate to for 20 years living here :D

We have one really hot day coming up on Sunday in advance of a cold front coming through for Monday. A cold front to start the first week of August!!!!

This summer is so weird. I love it. It's just very strange :double:

So do I! I have only 1-3 days of a chance to reach 100°F right now. It was supposed to get up to 97°F today, but it reached 95°F.

Hot, but definitely far from any record breaking temperatures for the hottest time of the year in Texas. Woohoo!

I made the mistake of getting a large bucket of golf balls at the range this evening.

I just about died. It's hot.

Hottest day of the summer is expected today for me. 99°F is expected in OKC, 101°F expected for Tulsa.

After today, highs will drop to the upper 80s & lower 90s with storms tonight through Sunday.

Compared to the past few summers, it sure is nice to say that your annual high might only be 99. Most years it's 100 or more. I think the hottest I have been so far is 95 or 96. So happy to finally have a cooler than average summer so far!

The summer heat has been reasonable for several years now. It'll be funny to see all the new transplants melt whenever we finally have a death ridge year.

It only got up to 97°F in OKC, and 98°F in Tulsa. It was a close call for OKC.

And there are storms coming my way now.

Sure are. Looks like the storms are firing up early today. Could be an stormy afternoon rather than the evening for DFW.

Localized but some torrential rainfall and cooling in the mid cities and southern end of DFW airport. Generally the first week or two of August is hot but doesn't look so bad, in fact pretty good.

July had 5 days of 100+ at DFW but ended up -1F below normal. Thinking <10 days of 100F this year is possible. In truth we haven't seen a true brutal Texas style summer since 2012.

Lol.

I assume now you’re doing pretty good with the increase in coverage, despite the decrease in intensity.
