Just got off the phone with my son in Cypress(Cypress-Rosehill and Huffmeister). They have been slammed. Streets are flooded and winds were worse than Ike. Seems to be letting up a little, but like Jen said it appears that the train may be setting up. Storming here too, but nothing like what my son reported to me. He is going to upload video he took and I will do the same if I can get it. Our daughter and grand-daughter are here with us. Hopefully their home in Copperfield is ok.
Tornado warnings being issued right and left for Harris County. Radar showing rotation and winds of 100 mph near Greenspoint Mall and Intercontinental Airport.

Update from Jeff Lindner...

Large MCS moving across SE TX. At 545pm radar indicated a large complex of strong to severe thunderstorms, several with strong rotation from Livingston to W of Victoria. Storms over W Harris County have produced 2-4 inches of rainfall in 1-2 hours as they train slowly ENE across this area. Large almost bowing segment W of VCT should continue to move rapidly ESE into the Matagorda Bay region over the next 1-3 hours. Damaging winds and tornadoes will be the main threat. PWS continue to climb and rainfall rates of 1-3 inches per hour have been recorded across Harris County and with the 88D network. Flash flooding will be possible especially in areas that have had excessive rainfall in the last 10 days. Tornado Watch in effect for areas S of I-10 Flash Flood Watch for the entire area until midnight.

This MCS is reminding me of the two we had the weekend before last. Can't believe how hard the Houston area has been getting pounded lately. Hopefully we can get some rain out of this as rain chances don't look impressive for the rest of the week.

We have another large flash flood event unfolding here in Houston along with possible/probable tornadoes and/or high winds(radar indicated to 100 mph with rotation). I just emptied 3" out of the gauge and it is still raining, but has let up some. Most if not all of that 3" came in 1 hour. With the tvs signatures and warnings I will not be surprised to have at least on tornado confirmed out of this event, though I do hope not because everything is over heavily populated areas.
