Hey Duckie! I hope you didn't lose too many feathers getting home from work. Um... you DID make it in to work this morning right?

uhhh Jen...I think you've had a rough day.

Well, that is true; I'm just expecting everyone to follow my twisted train of thought. I know you made the post, but talking about Galveston made me think of our own GalvestonDuck, who hasn't chimed in to this thread since early this morning. Anyone else heard from her?

Actually, it wasn't me who made the post. It was EWG. :P

Made it home OK.

The damage I have is WORSE than what I had with RITA!!!

All three of my hibiscus shrubs against my back fence have been uprooted. During Rita I only lost one.

I also had 5.75" of rain

Thanks for checking in Duckie! Obviously, I have zapped more than one brain cell today, so am heading to the couch for a well-deserved snooze. Now that the flooding worries are over for now in Bear Creek, maybe I can just nap and enjoy the sound of the rain for a while.

Probably due to the much more saturated soil than with Rita.

Hah we have ropes all over my backyard ever since Lili which uprooted quite a few shrubs/trees. Rita re-uprooted many of the same bushes and even a new tree, so now everythings tied up again! For the next hurricane I'm just gonna go ahead and tie up all my trees to try and save them  .

Yes, the shrubs easily tipped over as all the beds are a soupy swamp. The pool is overflowing its banks too. Looks like I'll be getting some yard stakes & ropes.

Holy crap will it ever end? This is insane. It's been raining realy hard for over an hour in the Clear Lake area.

I told DH if this isn't flooding our house then we can probably cancel the flood insurance (water isn't even close, but I am just kidding)....

Crazy lightening. No wind damage that I can see yet, but I haven't gone outside to check the greenhouse.

Oh my....just saw the damage from the tornado just west of Beaumont in China...several homes destoryed. Piles of debris that look like what Rita did. So sad.
They showed flooding from here, with cars floating on streets, etc. I only saw a few minutes of it. If satellite and power can stay on, I'll record the news at 6pm so I can see more.

Btw, I noticed the Lake Charles NWS forecast for the next few days is way different than Houston's. I'm talking about Lake Charles' forecast for Beaumont too, which is usually fairly similar to Houston. What's the big differences they're seeing? (if anyone knows)
