Quite an interesting run on the 18z GFS to say the least.

Drove down I-44 in Tulsa on my way back to Norman tonight and there's still a ton of areas without power through there. Some areas aren't even estimated to be back on until Saturday. Probably the worst widespread weather event I've seen in that area in years. Crazy how they haven't declared a state of emergency for this yet.

I don’t remember anything like these dew points in June and definitely not for an extended period. Unbelievable.

As far as comfort level I’d rather have 2011 than this.

It did not get below 75 this morning at my house. Parts of Southwest Oklahoma didn't even get below 80.

They finally did yesterday(the Governor was out of the country) but yeah I've been shocked at the level of damage stil

My power estimate did move up to tomorrow night instead of Friday so there has been some progress. One big area of the city I was watching did light up at the very end last night so that was really good

Considering how unexceptional the spring rainy season has been, the humidity is a real surprise to me.

Some of the temp/dp readings this morning are unbelievable for any time of year, let alone mid/late June:

- DFW bottomed out at 83 today
- Vernon (west of Wichita Falls) reporting an 80 degree dp at 7:00
- Widespread 110-116 high temps yesterday across west and southwest Texas

2011 didn't deliver any of that. It was just hot and very dry. For DFW the good news is that we've consistently underperformed on temp forecasts so far. It's only a matter of time, but with each day that passes without a 100 degree temp we get one day closer to fall. By this time last summer we'd already had 5 days of 100+.

Glorious clouds and some drizzle. At a yearbook workshop with kids and it has been oppressive.

For some reason TWU wifi blocks storm2k.

Been an unusual ridge that has anchored into Mexico rather than the usual southwest US. Will have to dig back but 1972 has proven to be a working analog with this ENSO event.

You've got to be kidding me! After looking pretty good for storms in DFW tonight into tomorrow morning... it now looks like the outflow of our renegade MCS is going to push through DFW and stall just west of DFW. Then storms, later on, will run down this boundary and stay west of DFW!

Blending the 00z EPS and GEFS give you high temps approaching 110F in DFW during this timeframe.

Just had a very gusty line here with 40-50 mph winds. Probably didn't help the cleanup efforts but at least it's not blazing hot
