Irma is looking mean this morning. All those little islands in her path are going to get nailed. And then Florida.......

After 44-10 turned into 45-44 in quarter and a half, I would think so.

Based on these data the initial intensity is set at 155 kt for this
advisory. This makes Irma the strongest hurricane in the Atlantic
basin outside of the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico in the NHC
records.

I saw that. That's up there with Western Pacific typhoons.

Irma currently at 926 mb and 185 mph as per latest advisory. Current NHC track has Key West in the crosshairs on Sunday morning. Subject to change, of course.

185, that's a 30-40 mile wide EF-4.

That is a downright SCARY hurricane! History in the making in the Atlantic. Not sure what will become of the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Key West, etc.

Im wathcing Irma a bit, but i cant put much effort into it. Harvey took it all out of me. TPB weather center magically started working again. Just missed 42 inches worth of data. No big deal.

A few post Harvey notes:

H-E-B is very low or out of quite a few things, bread etc. they have a sign saying it's hurricane related.

Gas. Sheesh. Everywhere it's 2.59. It was 1.99 right before Harvey. Had to go to 4 places to get it. I was getting close to 1/4 tank and I don't like going below that.

Yep same here, its ridiculous. Spot on with the gas prices. Same here. Some refineries are back to producing so that should help.

I found gas for $2.38 today and I thought that was bad lol

Guys, being a German guy that is going to spend his fall holiday driving around the US, I can tell you that no matter if it's $1.99 or $2.59 a gallon you can be absolutely happy that you are able to run on such cheap gas. Us Europeans pay $6 and more.

Maybe we can string 2 below normal months together at DFW.. its rare to get one in a row the last couple of years. August was 1.2F below.

The cooler, less humid air is winning. An early taste of the upcoming fall.season. Feels fantastic. Unfortunately a slow warming trend with increasing humidity returns over the next few days. Summer is not dead yet. Rain prospects look bleak for the next several days in DFW. We have been dry here recently so some rain would be nice. Until then the below normal to normal temps will prevail. Oh, I can't wait for some serious dry Canadian air to graciously invade us and rid us of any humid days for a lengthy period of time. Slow few days on the forum just wanted to post some thoughts. My daughter and I were discussing winter and we can't wait. My little one is a weather lover just like her daddy. Winter can't come soon enough.

63F so far this morning at DFW airport which is coolest since May. Feels great. Weather in the near future is rather boring (but pleasant!) which SE Texas needs.
