Freeze watch up with the first freeze of the season expected here over the next couple nights. Looks like it will warm up a bit after that. 10/23 is looking interesting, but it's still a week out so obviously that will change. It was nice to get some storms yesterday though, that was the first slight risk here since 6/9, over 4 months ago!

The SPC does mention it, but the uncertainty is too high with the models right now.

I heard it pouring around midnight, then went back to bed. I assumed we got around a quarter or half inch.
Just looked at my gauge. It showed 2.1 inches!!

I did not expect that. :D Very nice!
Very grateful!

Wow, very impressive! Looks like much of SA has already seen at least 0.50 inch and it's still raining too. It feels great outside today with light rain in Houston. What a great start to the week! :D

I know, it looked like SA was getting it after it was already done here. :)
Just for full disclosure in case anyone wonders, the gauge is out in the open yard, not under any trees to skew it high with residual drops from trees, so the amount is legit. I did a double take when I saw that amount, to make sure myself.lol

Our weather mets (EWX area) mentioned the mid level remnants of a potential eastern Pacific tropical system moving over our area, bringing chances of showers and thunderstorms late next Sunday and Monday. Cyclone had a 50 percent chance of developing.

SOI ridiculous + streak still going. QPF go with the downward trend closer in until there is more support, even then skepticism until something changes. Even areas that got dumped in August and early Sept racking up 10"+ deficits again.

And I used to look forward so much to seeing your posts here, especially when you have been countering 57. :froze:

Ntxw, we’ve got to shake something up in that SOI and get you on a hot streak going the other way!

Fear not, this can’t last forever, right? :D

This is what we thought in 2011 and 2012, then came the -SOI and broke the drought COMPLETELY! But it's so bad right now that the Mississippi River is extremely low.

Don't worry 57 has not overtaken the office of PWC!

Believe me I'm constantly looking ahead to change the tune. It isn't me though! It's the weather, it's been quite dull with much of the same thing just in a different season. If a true change was coming I'd be the first to make longggg posts about it!.

Expect a low in the mid-20s as the lowest Wednesday Morning!

My great-grandparents in Springfield, MO are expecting a low of 17°F

Apparently if Tulsa can get to 25 Wednesday morning it'll be the earliest on record

I hope if we do, it's not to the extent of February 2021. The 8 inches+ of snow was awesome, but the intensity/duration of freeze was scary/damaging for the flora, fauna, and humans. I went out every couple of hours to check on the outside hose bibs, and the inside faucets!lol

I’m hearing there’s potential this winter for some historic cold but I don’t really believe any long range forecast.
