This line is moving pretty slow right over Houston metro - there are going to be some crazy amounts of rain with this - looks like widespread 3" + amounts.

Just reported it to flood control who reported to sheriff's office. We'll go under in about 20 minutes if we don't get a break, which is doubtful...

HILSHIRE VILLAGE...HEDWIG VILLAGE...CUT AND SHOOT...CONROE...
COLDSPRING...CHATEAU WOODS...BUNKER HILL VILLAGE AND ALDINE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL MAY CAUSE FLOODING OF LAND
ADJACENT TO CREEKS AND BAYOUS...DRAINAGE AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
ADDITIONALLY...FLOODING MAY OCCUR ON...STREETS...FRONTAGE ROADS...AND
HIGHWAY UNDERPASSES. AVOID LOCATIONS WHERE WATER COVERS THE GROUND!

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DEPTH AND SPEED OF FLASH FLOOD WATERS. ACT QUICKLY IF FLASH FLOODING
IS OBSERVED. DO NOT STAY IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS
TO RISE.

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.

Idunno but it looks as if the line is really slowing over Harris County and maybe back building slightly.

Unless I am seeing things this line has almost rained itself out on the west side of town. The rain has lightened up here. I pray I am right and that the water starts going down everywhere!

As Wxdata posted over at KHOU......the front has undercut the storms......thus surface-based is now elevated.

Yeah, you can see the front rapidly moving SE towards Clear Lake/Dickinson, etc. on radar.

I think we dodged the bullet by the skin of our teeth. Water is going down but very slowly. It'll be several hours yet before the streets are passable.

Praying for you David and everyone else. Unbelievable...

OK, now that the fireworks have passed over west Houston, when does the rain in West Texas get here?
