I do think upper level dynamics are better later tonight to make up for it. I could see a quick decent line dropping another 1-3". I was worried for a blank if early activity had not panned out, which it did thank goodness. For totals it was better to get on the board early.

Yeah even up here I was running models all evening trying to figure it out and wondering if it would even rain for real and thinking it would be later today because the stuff last night was supposed to fall apart and then it was kind of like the snowstorm in January it just started and didn't stop

Well, this was a nice surprise overnight. Based on all the mets and NWS, even models, I expected that to stay well northwest of DFW. But, I ended up with 1.13. Not bad!

Basically half of what I need to consider this a win, so I think things are looking promising. This should not harm us I think since it was so early, and the big show is tonight.

12Z NAM is a perfect run for DFW, including hitting hard areas on the western end that have missed some earlier events. For the high-res, the 06Z was much better, but still looking good for another inch. The latest HRRR runs have dropped the hole for DFW since it seemed to get it already rained. Lol.

Right now looks like a squall line but definitely have to watch for the potential of an MCS developing as we get later into the evening where we can see a more localized wind damage threat from that down across portions of the HC and SC TX .

The storm is crawling towards my home....... it looks like Denton County might be spared from some severe weather at least, everyone else stay safe. We had a pretty good storm earlier this morning I wonder if it stabilized some things above us.

A rather scary swirl in both reflectivity and velocity in south FW. FWD has not warned it.
