Bay Area Weekend forecast: Tonight will be another foggy night. Visibility could be less than 1/4th mile, & near zero-vis near the waterways/the fog prone areas. A warm front moving through FL will provide all of the moisture needed to turn dense fog into ground rain between 6-9am Saturday. A cold front will come across FL on Sunday with enough moisture/energy to create a few thunderstorms & an increase in rain chances to ~40%.

Nice little unexpected Low formed along that stationary boundary and rained on us this morning. Unusual steady rain for dry season. Much needed because we are in that near-water rain deficit pocket that probably had something to do with the negative maritime conditions this year.

Could this be the wet Nino?

Unexpected?? This has been mentioned by the NWS for at least the last 5 days. It was originally was supposed to be tomorrow, but im glad it isnt.

I do believe this will become a pattern, probably associated with El Nino.

Round two just started at my house, and looking at the Radar, it is not going to stop for a long time. Tons of rain so far.

With about an inch of rain today (that we very much needed), we found a leak in our attic just about an hour ago that is rotting wood. :x Can't it be the holidays with out any problems. :(

this weather pattern is pure nino. i suspected a developing nino would deep six the cane season and i'm equally confident it will deliver a significantly wetter than normal winter with a much higher than normal severe threat. of course time will tell but after last year's cold and sterile winter i'm looking forward to some interesting winter weather. in the near term, after a brief cool snap our airmass should quickly modify by monday with another gulf low approaching by next tuesday or wednesday so we're in a progressive, stormy weather pattern pattern typical of el nino.

SPC highlights florida in the day 5 (wednesday) outlook for a severe threat with our next (probably nino induced) low. still a good ways out but if this comes together we could get one of those good winter squall lines preceded by some nice balmy, breezy weather.

As of 3pm, winds have veered from the predominant direction of nw the last 48 hours to a north-northeasterly direction at Miami (airport). Winds in Fort Lauderdale (airport) are now out of the east-northeast. Temps are in the mid 70's...it is nothing short of glorious outside!!!

Now that the flow is turning onshore, that means one thing for sure...add about 10 degrees from last night's lows to tonight's lows in (especially) areas of south florida within a few miles of the coast....NWS Miami is calling for lows of 58-62 in Miami and Fort Lauderdale tonight (low to mid-50's further inland).

Back to above normal temps during the first few days of Decemeber...

LONG TERM...THE WARMING TREND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEK WITH
TEMPS FORECAST AT THE PRESENT TIME TO REMAIN WELL ABOVE NORMAL (5
DEGREES OR HIGHER) THROUGH MUCH OF THE WEEK. BOTH GFS AND ECMWF
BEGIN A GRADUAL INCREASE IN RAIN CHANGES BEHIND A WEAK FRONTAL
BOUNDARY THAT WILL BE PASSING THE AREA JUST TO OUR NORTH EARLY ON
TUESDAY AHEAD OF NEXT COLD FRONT FORECAST TO MOVE ACROSS SOUTH
FLORIDA SOMETIME AROUND THURSDAY WITH TIMING RATHER UNCERTAIN AT
THIS TIME.
