Most frustrating thing, much like April 27, is that the system worked today. SPC did great. NWS Norman did great. TV mets did great. What else can you do?

The 2003 Moore tornado was an F-3. I got to see it. It came down real quick and got rain wrapped. The one today seems to have gone from a minimal tornado to a very violent tornado is a very short time. At least during the 1999 tornado there was plenty of time to seek shelter.....MGC

The death toll will likely be similar to Joplin's EF5, its going up fast. Obviously the deadliest tornado since then. Will this be a billion dollar tornado? I say yes.

I'm hearing that the lead time of the tornado warning was about 8-12 minutes while the one in May 3, 1999 was 1 hour...a surprise like Joplin then. This won't look good when those questions will start to be asked but I think this came up extremely fast.

NWS Norman says a tornado warning was issued 16 minutes before the tornado touched down.

Joplin had almost no lead time. In this case, a high-end tornado was clearly on the ground about 10 minutes before hitting Moore.

This storm went from no echoes on the radar to tornadic in less than 30 minutes.

I hope that it starts to weaken very soon. All of those people around that game will be in big trouble!

It's almost stationary and feeding off of all the energy surrounding it. Very discreet system. Could be quite the flashflood-procuder for Brownwood county.

NWS radar estimates show over 12" northwest of Brownwood due to cell training. And it's stil going.

Was reviewing today's storm reports... was there really a tornado in South Central Colorado? That entire is almost entirely mountainous except for a very narrow valley near Alamosa.

My aunt lives in Blanket, TX and they had THREE tornado warnings over about about a three hour period this evening. Blanket is about halfway between Brownwood and Comanche. A school in Blanket was hit by a tornado earlier, but nothing like in Moore. They spent hours in the basement. Thank God they're ok! My heart goes out to everyone in Moore and I just can't stomach what happened at the schools.
