Looking at the damage I saw in the pictures from Adel, GA, no doubt this was at least an EF-3 tornado. Very rare to see such a large scale level of tornado for sure in this region.

Unfortunately, EF-5bigj, I agree with you. We very well could be aeeing more scenes like we had this morning in Adel. GA.

The SPC has very strong wording "significant tornado outbreak expected"

:uarrow: Well, I talked about this, and was very worried for days leading into this event about how bad this potentially could be. Psyclone and me discussed this in the Florida Weather thread a few days ago. Unfortunately, my worst fears are being manifested. Just a terrible situation unfolding in our region. Scary thing is this event is really only getting underway.

Yes I will be keeping everyone updated all day into the night on what is happening here. The worst of the weather will be later tonight here. Very heightened alert most definitely.

I've been keeping an eye on this for the past few days from Jax, should be a bumpy afternoon/evening today. It's been a while since I've seen the SPC use wording this strong for NE Florida.

Yes, no surprise there given 500 m^2/s^2 + being forecast for the area ( or yet in place )

How should the trailing squall line look when it begins to manifest itself? Should we be thinking 'derecho' or bowing segments along a standard squall line? SPC placed the tornado threat south of the Interstate 4 corridor relatively low - only 5% but puts the straight line wind threat at 30% all the way into South Florida.

Very hot, very humid and plenty of sunshine right over my area right now. It's ridiculously humid too. Living in N Hillsborough, so just on the edge of the "elevated" risk area.

Visible satellite imahery and composite radar imagery is showing the development of a squall line just south of the coast of the Florida Panhandle coast down into the Gulf of Mexico. Needless to say, this squall line will have to be watched extremely closely as this squall line moves northeast throughout the afternoon.
