Yeah I’ve been rereading it and I see that now.

The last couple of runs of the EPS really break down the stubborn SW Ridge in the longer range. This allows for some NW flow to dip into Texas and temps start to step down towards normal.

By then normals should be in the upper 80s so that sounds nice. Baby steps to break this stubborn pattern. So damn ready.

Summer 2023 will be forever known as "The El Nino that never came"

DFW NWS highs are creeping up.

Ugh.

But, I will take 95 in a few weeks and look forward to it. Better than this.

We had to pay up for the 2020 and 2021 mild La Nina summers. The clock was ticking :x.

We're going to have a party when the first big front comes with heat miser as a pinata.

El Nino has been here. Just doesn't impact our weather much in the summer. Have to wait until fall and winter for impacts to begin.

Haha I agree with this. I mean everyone was saying back in May it would turn out to be a wet summer. Nope, we all got that wrong. And back then I didn’t hear a one person say that El Niño doesn’t impact our weather during the summer but for the past month or so those comments have been out in full force.

Walked out of a restaurant last night and everyone was noting how cool it felt (it was 90 degrees still). You just adapt I guess.

This summer was a beast, one of the all timers and relentless from start to finish. We all know the pendulum will swing at least to the wet side if not cooler than normal.

Yeah it's definitely better than it was... I mean we haven't had a real heat index all week it seems. It seemed like the 110-120 heat indexes were never gonna end last week so we are making some progress and like I've said before eventually climo is gonna win out. I figured September would start off rough anyway(record high is 109!) And also because of some of the analogs I just wish there was some rain more than anything

I've noticed that the past few evenings and early mornings here. Felt noticeably different (cooler/less humid). Felt more like Fall and football weather.

It was 86 at 9pm instead of 96. Sounds crazy  , but felt much better relatively. Guess we do adapt.

The experts have been saying that for 20+ years.

People are still dying from the current (relatively) cooler temperatures. In Austin, mortality starts increasing at an 82.9° daily average temperature. For Dallas, it's 82.0°. Houston is 77.5°.

I'm crafting the stick as we speak. I'm gonna throw it in the spokes of his bike when he's riding on Hershey trail!

We've been down this road before with false starts offered up by the models. Still, this is better to look at than two weeks of the GFS showing no rain!

Ready for the temps to start dropping but it looks like it's still a long ways off...

But hey at least football season is here 8-)
