Yesterday we had 2 STW's in Broward. I work up in Boca and we were the recipients of this wrath:

http://twitvid.com/RCANL

The news reported a 61mph gust recorded in Pompano. It wasn't THAT strong here, I'd say 40mph tops but it was definitely the most powerful storm I've seen this year. My wife didn't get a drop out of it in S. Pompano beach, but it rained like crazy here for a good while.

Now that the fire activity is finally starting to come down, I can start paying a little attention to other aspects of meteorology beyond fire weather again

I've seen reports of water spouts on both coasts, and most recently SE of Sanford International. The atmosphere is primed for spouts, although this should calm down in the next day or two as the trough digs down.

Canadian model shows a small tropical system forming within 96 hours (4 days from today), skirting the eastern Florida coast over a three day period. No other model supports this, however.

It would be what the doctor ordered in terms of drought busting for the southeast coast. Plus maybe a little wind. Plus our friends in Northeast Florida & South Georgia would get a rare taste of the tropical stuff, if it comes to pass.

Got a good surprise tonight with a cell that developed over my area bringng in at least 2-3 inches of rain so far in just about a 30-45 minute period....was not expecting this but good news as lakes are really filling up now.

Also, it rained about .50-.75 inches earlier today. So overall, a good day for rainfall here in Central Palm Beach County.

Everything is looking very green and tropical. What a difference 2 weeks makes.

Port Saint Lucie is getting nothing significant. We seem to be in this annoyingly permanent dry slot.

that was a classic, south to north collision tonight so i've had 2 consecutive nights of decent rainfall. i'm afraid the same thing may happen tomorrow, potentially causing issues with fireworks. i hope folks are paying attention with lightning potential tomorrow...july 4 has been problematic in the past for lightning injuries around here.

Today's storm was a dud. Looked amazingly before sunset, and then just some light to moderate rain.

they didn't wander too far from their point of origin...with pwats a rather skimpy 1.6 inches or so that's understandable. i'm hoping for dry weather tomorrow for a change but i'm afraid another evening seabreeze collision (with resultant convection) could take place.

Nothing here since Friday (except for a few very light showers). Lots of noise. Lots of lightning. A few minutes of a few showers. New Port Richey is in the same hole as Port St Lucie I guess. TOTAL RAIN since June 1st is 2.5" spread out over several occasions. Very odd that we keep missing it. I had to water some of the landscape today as it was wilting. :double:

Wet end of the week upcoming according to Melbourne AFD

WED-FRI...CONFIDENCE IS INCREASING IN A VERY WET LATE WEEK WX
SCENARIO. MODELS CONTINUE TO ADVERTISE THE WEAK INVERTED TROUGH
CURRENTLY INVOF HISPANOLA (AND FAIRLY ACTIVE CONVECTIVELY TONIGHT)
MOVING NW AND THEN N AROUND THE WRN PERIPHERY OF THE ATLC RIDGE
AROUND 80W. THIS IS COINCIDENT WITH LWRG OF MID LVL HGTS OVER THE SE
AND CTRL-ERN GOMEX ASCD WITH WK MID/UPR TROUGHING. NET RESULT IS
DEEPENING SE AND THEN SRLY FLOW...WHICH DRAWS VERY DEEP MEAN PWATS
AOA 2.0 INTO CTRL FL. WHILE THE LATEST GFS RUN IS A BIT DRIER FOR
WED-THU...THE ECM IS CONSISTENTLY JUST AS MOIST AS IT HAS BEEN FOR
SEVERAL PREV RUNS THEREFORE HAVE KEPT POPS OF THE PREV FCST...WHICH
ARE A LTL ABOVE MEX GUIDANCE...DON`T SEE ANY REASON WITH THOSE KIND
OF DEEP PWATS THAT MOST AREAS WILL MEASURE RATHER THAN NOT. CLOUDS
AND PRECIP WILL HOLD TEMPS DOWN A BIT FOR THU/FRI...AND SHAVED AN
AVG OF ABOUT 2F OFF OF MEX NOS.

SOUTHEAST BAHAMAS MOVING NW AND THEN N AROUND THE WRN PERIPHERY OF
THE ATLC RIDGE. THIS IS COINCIDENT WITH LWRG OF MID LVL HGTS OVER

IS DEEPENING SE AND THEN SRLY FLOW...WHICH DRAWS VERY DEEP MEAN
PWATS AOA 2.0 INTO CTRL FL. CLOUDS AND PRECIP WILL HOLD TEMPS

What a dream that would be!!! It has been so long since I've seen a discussion like that that I'd forgotten what they look like.
