That twister in Tamarac threw down a seriously strong burst into my apt complex, I live directly before the first confirmed touchdown, still trees down here, all the patio stuff got blown around, no injuries though.

and an inch more of rains in some storms yesterday. For a 30-40% chance it boomed from about 1pm until 6pm, then again during the night we had showers. I have now had more rain in August through the 5th than total in June!

I think the Texas drought is partly over us too. The pond is at dry season level still with little appreciable rain in over 3 weeks and scant rain when it does fall.

Well, I'm NPR according to our zip code. LOL I'm in Golden Acres (behind the VA clinic) off Little and Fox Hollow. Got a little rain this weekend and a little this morning. Thunder for a long time yesterday and only a sprinkle.

Driving to and from work (in Tampa) last Wednesday and Thursday I saw wet roads both mornings and afternoons ALL THE WAY - except near me.

Emily enhanced the trough and gave us light showers. Real drought here because we are on the Gulf and get a maritime pattern instead of the mainland seabreeze convergence storms.

Off and on showers and storms since Sunday morning...total about 1/4" from it all despite HOURS of thunder. This is looking like the summer that wasn't. I mean, yes, it has rained, but it has been so much heavier in the same places in central county toward east. I guess that's Florida!

That has been the way this summer. Right now at 9am it is finally pouring BUT yesterday saw so much on radar and we were in that dry hole again. We will probably get tons when it does hit!

and it poured more Tues and even heavier today. Totals are now over 8" of rain for two days! My rain gauge almost overflowed by noon, and it holds 5". That was AFTER I emptied over 3" yesterday. Lord, when it pours..........we cannot just get an inch here, and another inch there. Noooooo..........but am happy with the rains. Now, the lawn needs to be cut, weeds pulled, etc...

I love how the paper and BN9 had our "HUGE" totals at 3-4" when my rain gauge overflowed! And all of you support the large totals. Yes, I just looked. Shrooms everywhere. A nice dry couple of days would be nice.

Some parts of NE Florida and the Panhandle/Big Bend area could use more rain. Send some our way please.

Tampa-St Pete and Sarasota....
Finally WTSP 10 will be getting a great chief meterologist.
Orlando's loss is your gain.
Sorry, but we're keeping him through hurricane season, though.

The rainy season is now over. As is typical for Tampa Bay, mid Sept ends it. After heavy rains to begin the month, there has not been a drop since Sat morning with barely 10% chances til the weekend. The later we get into Sept, the less chance of organized, tropical rains. The usual erratic totals fell this summer. August for me was VERY wet with over 16" totaled in the rain gauge, and about 7" in Sept. But, these cool mornings in the upper 60's have been a godsend. So beautiful. Fall in Florida is a gorgeous time of year that I enjoy. :P
